Tyson Fury Named Ring Magazine Fighter Of The Year
gnasher16 replied to stealthy1's topic in General Talk
Regardless of what the future holds he was in the right place at the right time and thats sometimes what sport is about so he deserves it for the accomplishment he has achieved alone. -
Im over the moon that ive lived to see my 50,s this is much longer than i ever realistically thought i was going to live as a younger man but nothing is ever enough and now i want to see my 60,s/70,s and on and on......ive achieved far more than i was told i would but theres plenty still to do so no if my time was up tomorrow im not content yet as theres always another battle to win and dream to chase.

It does make me laugh all these people ranting on trying to tell us things we was telling them 30 years ago which at the time they didnt think was all that important !.....I have more respect for Desertbred and his people than these plastic patriots we have coming out the woodwork now.....at least his kind are true to their beliefs and stick to it we have got exactly what we deserved as Englishmen.....people like me were laughed off and told we was knuckle dragging scum for voicing the exact same opinions that the people calling us scum are now piping up and saying themself like its all someth

How can Utd fans on one hand say they are fed up with negative football and on the other hand say they want Mourinho ....if ever a manager is not suited to a club thats got be it.

Id love to be able to draw as good as that .........one for the wall that is mate, nice

With all due respect chief driving a black cab aint anything like doing a bit of cabbing.......it takes them an average of 4 years i think it is to do the knowledge and from what ive seen its not something you can just play at its a big commitment and fair play to anyone who can get their nut round everything they have to learn.

Must admit it cracks me up sometimes watching people sitting in a queue for half hour in order to save about £2.50 !!

Well i never.....im often jumping in a sherbert how will i recognise you how you finding that app thing they all moan about i have a natter with them from time to time it seems to of slowed a lot of them down.yeah it has taken the cream of it a bit but it still ain't bad mate . I'm not really the type to moan about it really I just graft a bit harder . if your ever up west or in the city send me a PM and we can meet up and have a natter, I know some good eating establishments my treat. Yep I reckon My black cab is the only one that's got a tow bar and and had more terrier boxes in the back th

Glory hunter!! LOL You gotta take what you can over the last few seasons lol.. I give the club a lot of sheets and materials we don't need/over order, they use them out the training ground, Charlie the old groundsman is down our yard a few times a year picking up. Never been a big follower of the club tbh, but it's a nice little club with decent people amongst it. Might take fin up for the return leg. Good on you.....much as folk have explained it to me over the years and ive tried to understand it......i,ll never quite grasp how people can ignore their local club and follow clubs i

In terms of fails my most gutting was with my ex mother in law,i was in my mid 20,s and flat out in bed healing for a few days after a fight, the wife was out at work and this absolute gorgeous sort of a mother in law was coming round every day making me something to eat,bit of company etc......there seemed to be a bit of chemsitry but we both had to tread carefully incase we was wrong but this one day she was telling me massage would be good and how she had done a bit of it before......well it was her suggestion so i thought id let nature take its course........she had only been going a few mi

You,ve heard the saying " your wife should also be your best friend ".......well never is that saying more appropriate when you are married to an accountant Well in the Greengrass family......it doesnt matter where you start its where you end thats important

Makes you wonder what sort of talent these " big clubs " have coming through when they cant beat the likes of Exeter ( with all due respect to them ).....be interesting to see how the replay go,s after all Klopp,s whingeing about the pitch. Wont be no surprises at the Boleyn today 3 - 1 to the Hammers

I was just getting half a lob on then, one of them lazy ones.....you could of just made the ending up....what a let down !

I just kind of float around i dont do any real work these days....ive had some businesses and f****d about with properties over the years but i dont think you have the same drive and hunger in your 50,s that you had in your 20,s and 30,s........some interesting career choices some folk have made just shows you come across all sorts in this hunting lark.

Having the desire to get in the ring and have a fight is one thing.....getting in the ring with a challengers desire is something im not sure he still has........can you imagine Hayes precision with Joshuas power and Furys desire........sadly it doesnt all come in the one package but Haye is a pro fighter so why shouldnt he fight.
-
Haye is the wrong opponent for the young guys coming through,Joshua included.......he has the ability and precision to dismantle any heavyweight in the world but whether he has the desire and stomach for it anymore i very much doubt it.

It requires a completely different kind of strength to gym strength as its focussed on the negative cycle of the muscle and requires serious tendon strength......with your dumbell curls get a weight you cant curl but can hold at 90 degrees to your body.....thats your tendon strength........strength for top level arm wrestling is about hand strength, rotator strength as well as the belly of the muscle....even your lats come into play and if theres any weakness anywhere it will be exposed by technique.
-
Thats like lining up the best boxers and getting them to hit one of them fairground punchball things to find out who the worlds best boxer is !......top level arm wrestling is a highly technical sport....to find out who has the most power you could simply do a dumbell curl, whoever lifts the most is the best......an arm wrestler has to be strong in the whole arm and will zero in on his opponents weaknesses using technical ability/speed/brains/strength. John Brzenk is around 13 - 14 stone and possibly the greatest in history....Lars Rorbakken was a world level strongman competitor of around

I must admit the other geezer the one with head like a medicine ball doesnt do much for me either so its tough going at the moment but that Breaking Bad got a grip on me in the first series so i,ll have some faith in what you say and stick at it.....cheers
-
You reckon.......i think the main thing putting me off at the moment is the main character is played by the muggy little prat who " starred " in Green Street.......he just repulses me ! .....im 4 episodes into it i just cant envisage another 60 - 70 hours of this so its stick or twist but if you reckon stick.....its on you

Now there's a chap who's never seen an episode of The Professionals !never even heard of them.lol what is it,a tv series? You've never seen Bodies and Doyle ?? Dear God !! Go to YouTube immediately and watch. Bodie could handbrake a Capri, roll over the bonnet, fire 20+ rounds from a revolver, chat up "a couple of birds" and down half a lager all without creasing his Farah's ! Class !! Personally i preferred the white Escort with the Zakspeed kit in the background of the Minder intro myself but each to their own

Was going to suggest the series. Peaky Blinders, Breaking bad, Narcos, Sons of Anachy, Better Call Saul (watch after Breaking bad) are all good. We finished watching Prison Break at 2 last night which i'd seen some of when they first came out but being able to watch them back to back on Netflix is better as it's easier to follow the story than when it first came out and you had to wait a week for the next one I finished Breaking Bad just before xmas i really enjoyed it......ready for another one now and its a toss up between Sons of Anarchy,Prison Break or Dexter ?.......ive watched a fe
