  1. DONT pee on your hands. it stings. use baby bum cream in the mornng and at bed time. and use a simple soap.
  2. tight breeding isnt some new way of producing consistant strains. it was practiced all over the country where there was working dogs needed. as there was limited travel so the best of the best was used within the limited local genepool. the crap was culled not to produce quality stock but becouse times where harder and it costs the same to keep a good one as it did a bad one.. i'm happy to go with worker to worker. and have little in the way of future plans. i'm to long in the tooth to start now. as an aside some of the finest workers back in the day where crossbred worker to worker.. thi
  3. i stopped a while back. but i'm still on the e cig. cant seem to shake it
  4. cheers. i will be getting a speedlite for my camera. hoping it will help me around the sheds etc. i would love to get out with you one day.. maybe next year i'll have a decent lense by then. lol. keep up the good work.

  7. it is down to folks own interpretation of the written word . on these www sites everyone is entitled to there input . if you value it or not is a different matter. folk can only draw on the experience they themselves have gained. there are so many views on words like HARD. and in this day and age its probably best not to go to deep into the variations of the word. there are however dogs that have a harder style of work and are built to endure it and some dogs suffer badly . some owners work this type often whilst others use dogs like this sparingly . i could almost fit into the never dug
  8. i would say a good big dogfox can make it difficult and be a handfull, but for me the vixens with fire in there belly are more common than dogs with the same attitude. just going on what ive seen, and i dont do as many now but doubt its changed that much in the last ten years, as for lurchers with the mindset of a terrier. try the litter wastage from a first cross . with a bit of bulk and learn some fieldcraft.
  9. tom and jerry. roadrunner wackyraces. magic roundabout was also top class
  10. the best terriers are still brought out . after retirement. just to give them one last crack. or to show a youngster how its done. its really hard to leave a good old dog indoors. and sad to see em grow old and the fire in there eyes grow dim
  11. brilliant sequence of pics. the ending was inevitable. i bet all thouse pics where took in a matter of a few seconds. thanks for sharing
  12. its easy to blame the dog. most lurchers that quit are entered to early and entered badly. by either imature or ignorant owners . that tend to be over enthusiastic or frustrated. sure a large percentage wont tackle foxes. Was they bred to.? if not why are folk that want to hunt foxes owning them. Its becouse it was purchased without forethought. as to its intended workload. sad to see folk getting rid of otherwise good animals becouse of poor decisions they themselves have made. a dog that is bred right and entered right has a great chance of success . and a life that is long and fruitfull
  13. the pair of roe deer is a belter. stands out for me.
