    i judged it many years ago. an old gentleman gave me a swearing for smoking between classes. said it made some dogs jumpy. on hindsight i reckon he was right. cracking little show well worth a look. .

    i.m of the opinion that if a dog dosnt use its voice its flawed. i dont mind bull blood but like a terrier to be able to get to a fox so size and build is an issue . as is nose. to much bull tends to make a terrier to chesty and to hard for what i would want. i also think a lot of bull as been added . that is the wrong sort. as some believe that any bull terrier will give what they need. coat type and pelt can suffer also. i wouldnt look for bull in terriers. but i wouldnt knock it either.

    becouse cowardly people. are born that way. no amount of training will make a coward into a brave man brave men are born brave. i also believe the idea is unworkable in todays society. an incentive based volenteer system would be prefarable. with better benefits for volenteers or lower benefits for those who dont fancy it.

    The only person with any understanding of what makes a lines good or bad .nice post mate was going to but you saved me the trouble . The dog is the most important ingredient in creating a line and not just a one off but that said GOOD bitches need to be covered by it. i think both sexes being of a good quality has been agreed by most posters. but if i was to start out in terriers again. the first thing i would look for is a very good well bred . BITCH. tell me what i dont understand and i may be persueded to take a dog.

    Yes, I wont work a bitch in season i wouldnt work a bitch in season due to risk of infection. the reason i asked was years ago i had a good little bitch. done a fair bit with her. she let me down twice. once was not long after losing a litter in a c/section. and then again a couple of seasons later after a false pregnancy.. apart from these two times she was spot on i always rated this bitch despite the two cock ups. ive often wondered if folk notice a different workstyle coming up to the season.? cheers

    six or seven seasons before breeding . stuff and nonesence. a dog or bitch could walk at any time. if you dont trust your dog/bitch after a couple of seasons. will you ever? it all seems a little over the top to me. how many regularly worked dogs last that long. what if you wait till your terrier is 7 or 8. to find out its no lead in its pencil. regular work can prematurely age a terrier. bitches of that age after a heavy working life will be more likely to have problems welping. if you have a good line of workers would you be willing to chance missing out on a litter due to not trusting the
