  5. a womon on the plummer site has checked Leigh cat and dogs home. there has been no plummer or plummer like terrier handed in as far as they know.
  6. look at this fat little fecker. lol there is a high population of foxes around me and very few problems . if they became a threat they would be thinned out. to a reasonable number i'm sure
  7. not all foxes around towns are mangy feckers. ive pics of a fair few of em. all in good nic, they do kill cats. ive seen it with my own eye's. they are capable of all sorts of mischief. including biteing attacking small dogs. killing pet rabbits etc. so need controlling when nessesary. 8. everything has a place and everything in its place stormy
  9. i tend to agree with the above. i have a love of wildlife. however i still understand that we have a part to play. i feed the odd fox. i like to see them about. but i also know that they are a pest in many situations. i'm willing to control foxes that are a pest.. i feel i have a balanced outlook. i also think chris packham is a tosser.
  10. this is just an observation but some of the lads / lasses ive seen doing good things with there mutts have been quiet spoken mild natured sorts. you know the sort you always find them the same no matter whats happening around them. they are neither up nore down. dogs seem to respond better to them. my nature is up and down like a feckin yoyo. dont get me wrong i can do okay with my dogs. i just cant compete with the steady sorts. maybe dogs are like there owners. lol, all mine are wired wrong. like me
  11. i don't quite have the same appeal they are both very fine rear views. but to be honest lurchergirl just edges it for me now i am worried
  12. i don't quite have the same appeal they are both very fine rear views. but to be honest lurchergirl just edges it for me
  13. well done to you for taking him under your wing fella. top man.
  14. good man. hope this is spotted before he ends in the dogs home. will post in plummer forum. have you a pic of the dog Rich
  15. it depends how you define routine gaz. your dogs sound like they have a routine to me . work sleep eat. do you feed before they work. or do you feed after they work. what are they fed..how much. i never feed my dogs before work. i always give them the same food. always after working . i always feed the same amount to each dog. i give my dogs exersize around the same time every day if i change there habits it can have a negative effect . its an interesting point as .its a habit i have. i dont like to change there routine to much. all my dogs are relitively fit and well and long lived. to b
  16. the terrier picture is an absolute cracker. gets my vote. and well done to everyone that had a picture in the comp. be great if it could become a regular feature.
  17. you can only get mates rates if you have mates. .
  18. I know a lad who is consistant with being impatient. And consistant with being heavy handed. And consistantly feed a bad diet. His dogs are shite lmfao. . maybe i should have worded that better. . if you do the opposite to that lad (consistantly you should get the opposite result. . . most good dogmen have a set routine. this is very important.. and i dont mean routinely forget to walk them. and beat them regurely
  19. not all keen young uns have conections with decent lads.some have to start from scratch. they have to get a pup from someone. i know what folk are saying but sometimes its worth the gamble. the quote (and some fell on stoney ground) springs to mind.next time you have to cull. due to a bigger than expected litter hold an extra pup back and give a keen young lad a chance. not all will pay off but if one or two lads do then it has to be worth it. as an answer to the original question. around 100/150 is a reasonable price to me good hunting this winter
  20. i am regularly offered working stock. but your right i would rather buy in than cull good quality well bred prospects..i have no problem with culling the crap. its the wasted prospects that are culled that i feel is a waste. better to give a young en one for a couple of notes as far as i see it. if folk dont like makeing money of a dogs back fair does. give it to cancer research.
