  1. It's purely the oil splitting and reflecting the light, much like a Prism does, hence the "Rainbow" effect. Unless your firing Skittles instead of lead Tony
  2. or there is also Chambers http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24235&cat=S200 Tony
  3. I put a different seal on the Ratty xfer port (without modifying the port) and the increase immediately took it up a couple of ft/lbs. I've used the SMK co2's and they have been fine in my hands. As for power I have used my HW40 pistol (less than 3ft/lbs) on rats out to 15 yards and a sub 5ft/lbs springer to kill rats at twice that range. Anywhere in the head or even the front third of the body and its not going to live more than a second or two. Tony
  4. Cheers guy's, Even if we'd not shot anything, it was nice to get back 'home' and get away from this bloody town (well allegedly a (and officially Englands Largest) village). Tony
  5. When you say the pellets just "plop out the end" do you mean they are falling through the barrel or is it that the gun is very underpowered? Tony
  6. Barry, I was going to say PM me you number and I'll put you in touch with Shay, but everyone has beaten me to it Tony
  7. Nope! is the simple answer to that. If indeed that was the case one of our regular members would not have been allowed to import his Matador PCP as they are under 30 inches (29 and a bit) from muzzle to tip of butt. He'd be walking around with a 12ft/lbs pistol Minimum length for a Fire Arm is 600 mm, but not including Muzzle loaders or Air guns Tony
  8. Apparently.... From the (then) owner, John Cooper of Falcon "The answer given to Falcon Pneumatics when they made a very short rifle was that there is no minimum length for a rifle; however the stock must be designed to be shouldered and used with two hands. If it isn't designed like this then it would be classified as a pistol with a 6ftlbs limit." Because some take downs like the Air Arms could be used one handed they are designed such that removing the butt renders them unable to fire.
  9. Hi Chris, As promissed I'd look into this further. Firearms must have an overall minimum length of 600mm however this does not apply to airguns or muzzle loaders! A Shotgun must have barrels no shorter than 24 inch (600mm) however the stock for these are not regulated. Although a grey area, (purely because it does not state a size in written law) airguns could be as short/long as you wish as long as it does not exceed the power limits laid out in Statute Law. http://www.legislati...27#pt1-pb2-l1g5 Tony

  14. Woke up with that oh crap feeling in the morning, not that I’m superstitious but things generally don’t go well for me on the Friday 13th Anyway the thoughts of a decent afternoons shooting perked me up so I got up, put the coffee machine on and I got my gear ready and put my contacts in. Chris arrived and we loaded the car, hopped in and we were soon heading towards Brough. As we drove down Great Gutter Lane the bunnies were out in numbers and a Fox had obviously been hit bya car and was laid dead at the side of the road. It looked very fresh and intact, if I had been walking or on my pu
