  1. Comments such as "Si I think your telling Porkies" are an obvious sign of jealousy. I and many other members have stood side by side with you out in the field and have seen you shoot both PCP and Springer. I think those of us that have had the honour and pleasure of shooting with you will never doubt your marksmanship skills. Right, gotta go, I'll watch the next 15 mins of the vid if it's down when I get back Tony
  2. I was really keen to get out yesterday and put some more meat in the freezer after last week’s shoot. Chris picked me up and off we went. Arriving at the Cemetery we saw a decent sized Woody walking and pecking at the grass, Chris spun the car around and parked at the gates. As quietly as I could I got out the car, Woody still bobbing along without a care in the world. I opened the boot and unzipped my gun bag. I slipped a Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum into the breech and removed the scope caps. Leaning into the boot of the car and placing my babies stock into my left shoulder I drew a bead
  3. Nice work Roger Dont forget the camera next time you go for coffee Tony
  4. Hi Roger, Sorry to hear of the diagnosis, your very lucky that you noticed it so early This type of cancer is probably the single most treatable form known and when caught early is usually 100% curable Tony
  5. If only you were closer. You've got my address Archie and I'll try to remember to get it back to you this year Heres hoping your leg gets better soon bud Tony
  6. Nice going oh dark one Apparently as well as Geraniums they dont eat anything that grows from bulbs. As for them not eating the Geraniums, I don't blame em, those things fecking stink Tony
  7. I've used similar as a finder scope on my big astronomical telescope. Think that was a NStar or something. It'll be fine for drive by bunnies at 10 to 20 yards Tony
  8. I've known the S200 to outshoot the expensive Daystates before
  9. Cant go wrong with those little babies (unless you've got very long arms) That would buy you the gun, scope, bag, the pump (or maybe 2nd user air tank) Tony
  10. Cheers Stealthy, been looking for an el-cheapo red dot for the ratty Tony
  11. Yes indeed we will all hope for a swift recovery Tony
  12. Well I guess we've all learned something from this thread eh Zinc Pellets, close range and soft tissue are not a good mix And most importantly, if you have a springer, Tony at SFS is the best man to sweeten it up Wonder what he could do to my XS19 although it would cost more to have the work done than it did to buy the gun Expertise like Tony's just cant come cheap! Tony
  13. Yeah, with the design of them they tend to keep themselves straight as they go through the soft tissue making a clean hole, where as a diablo waisted pellet tends to tumble through causing a much wider and (for want of a better word) Dirtier wound tract leading to more bloodloss. Do a few autopsies Mike and study the effect of the pellets on the soft tissue and bones. I've done hundreds and it teaches you a hell of a lot about what you can and what you cant get away with. Funnily enough I was explaining some of this to Chris earlier Tony
  14. Hell fire Mike, Ditch those thunderbolt things, they are much too hard and fast at that range for a heart lung shot especially in .177 At close range you need to get as much kinetic energy transfere as possible into the CNS or decimate the brain Tony
  15. Excellent shooting Si And well done on the woodies as well Yep 3 was behaving itself for once Again awsome shooting buddy. Tony
  16. It is a bit extreme isn't it Have you checked for clipping? To help determine if the mod it on level to the centre of the bore you could use a straw, length of doel or a knitting needle (if you, your lass or your mom is into knitting). What are the groupings like? Tony
  17. Great, you get in good and close to capture the glow? I've only witnessed it at close range and it only lasts less than a second. It's really is quite an amazing thing to see. I've got a couple of stacks of lead about 30 pellets deep, looks like a metal thumb. It was shot at 6 yards and when I saw the glow of the fusion I just couldn't help myself I just had to keep going till my air went Tony
  18. Well done Davy Just shows that you dont need max power to achieve max accuracy. At 35 yards it's still going to deliver 5.5 ft/lbs into the quarry and thats more than enough for a clean lights out on a bunny Tony
  19. Creating on lump groups is awsome when you get it right Next time set up the video and film it, why? because if its a fairly dull in daylight, you can see the pellets "Glow" orange as the energy is turned to heat and they fuse together. I've witnessed it and it's fantastic. If you have a high speed camera ist great to watch it in slow motion Nice one gent's, Roger will be well chuffed Tony
  20. No Mike, At the moment, my baby is single shot, if I'd had my way this week though, she would now be a ten shot Tony
