There a few RFD here and you can bring ammo etc on the ferry but not powder, we make that from tourist bones an anybody else's we can lure to this part! Did you never see wicker man? ? Last outbreak of mixy was in the 70s, no foxes too and since they had a mink clear out the rabbit are a major problem to the machair. The only predators really are eagles and hawks. The trout/salmon fishing is good here yes, and 90% free if you know where to go too, some great isolated spots out the Moor, I can get lost happily out there for a few days, need to be careful though an know what hazards to

Wife's from East Sussex and used to do it in one sitting! I don't go mainlanding very much, but when I do I make it count, normally ferry out and then cheap flights, see kids and grandkids ?

You can always visit mate, as long as you bring ya blunderbuss, we can take a Warren out in one ?

As the wife would say "you'd bloody moan about winning the lottery you", and to be honest she's right, if they won't pay me in cash I'd want my quid back ? And a serious thank you for the offer, but I think it's against the rules ??

Isle of Lewis pal, bit barren in winter, the land of sideways rain and backward flying gulls, but I love it. Canny imagine living on the mainland, let alone visit it ?

I do miss ditch shitter he was hilarious, and foxgun Tom, ollie etc, but hey people do move on. I didn't partake for a few years for personal reasons but glad I had the opportunity to come back without my account deleted.

Getting paid to do it helps too ? ?

Aye indeed, I was watching a sparrow hawk defeather a wee bird the other day, just great to be about it without other people. I'm not a people person. We always call the black ones immigrants here, canny think why ?

I had an hour to spare so decided to take the 17HMR out, I don't get it out enough really, mainly just because I'm a tight old git! Anyway hole number one, ranged at 88 yards with rangefinder, scanning the ground with the scope, a bloody immigrant came into sight, to my absolute disgust it was actually copulating with a local, having no choice I promptly dispatched it, the participant promptly ran off or it would have got the same. Three more locals swiftly followed their demise, as I was waiting to see if any more wanted to play I realised I had my phone, so took pictures too. I the

Yeah I get that, I'll probably get better luck in Belfast seen as that's English. Son in laws mate has an Irish ticket too so says if I'm stuck he'll get them on his for me n Bollox te em ? spent a lot of time in Ireland, four of my kids were born there at the Coombe in Dublin, out in the country now though, I don't have to do crowds visiting grandkids which is nice

Got an email back from a shop in Ireland recently "Hi there again, Unfortunately we would not be able to supply you. Only valid Irish licence holders can buy ammunition from us. However call into the shop and we can see if we can help you out." So that clears that up and scuppers my plans ? I'm pretty sure the emphasis on "see if we can help you out" means try and sell me goods that don't need a license, not come to some arrangement on ammunition ?

I'll stick to just shooting white rhino ?

Between 40 and 50 fishermen have taken sea early this morning from TROUVILLE, Port-en-Bessin, or even Ouistreham (Calvados). They did cap on England, off the coast of the Bay of the Seine, to go to meet the English fishermen to the scallop. A meeting that turned into confrontation. Quarantine of french ships surrounded the English ships to force them to stop fishing. While the smoke and name-calling tended more atmosphere, some boats acted in Aries pouncing on others. Three boats are damaged, with holes in their shell. After the first load, the English retreated before counterattac

They've been doing it for years and aren't the only ones. When I was on the small trawlers (under 30 meters) out the Atlantic the French and Spanish factory ships would bully you for ground and trawl their nets over ours, fishery protection vessels never bothered them, but would take great delight boarding us and checking logs, catch and nets.

If your willing to pay? Don't know how much this guy charges, he's got the South side of the estate I shoot. There's a few other estates on the islands too, unless your local though your going to have to pay. https://www.rjhsports.co.uk

Don't see many rimfire loading kits, I have seen 22 ones but never a 17. Strange the ferry here doesn't mind you bringing live ammo over but doesn't like powder and they can refuse boarding so not worth the hassle that way, and for the amount of 308 I go through hardly worth me getting kitted out to load my own. Cheers.

I've had this over 10 years, found it on a trawler I was working on, always kept me warm at sea and seen a lot of abuse, even though its dog eared and tatty now I still wear it!

I'd say the numbers are up here, I've seen an definite increase. There are no predators here though, they did away with the mink and we never had fox so only the eagles are a natural predator. We'll have to round them up and ship them back over to the mainland.
