  1. I don't think hares think like that....they don't think: "Oh no, here's a predator, I will 'lead' it away from the female'.....they do not have that level of understanding and thinking. And how do you know it's always bucks that rise first...? And again, that's in my experience.....
  2. Tom, do not waste your time with mayfly, unless the trout are flat out obsessed with them that is. If truth be know mayfly's catch more anglers than they do fish...

"With all due respect" the guys put up a picture of his dog in a plastic bag that was taken from his home healthy and your moaning about commas and full stops? Mate I was lost for words when I seen that picture the first question was how could it even happen that these dogs got anywhere near your dog while in their custody. How can other dogs get near your other injured dogs while in their custody and why are the police not acting sounds f*****g mental to me. I'm sure you'll push to get everything done you can about it and I wish you all the best without knowing the inns and ours your dog

How is this allowed to happen?. How can the police stand by and let this happen? How? I hope you get some serious answers matey, and I hope whoever did that gets what they deserve. An eye for an eye......
  7. Don't waste your time with mayfly.......it's not going to happen IMO.....if you're using dry fly then try a black knat or a greenwells, nice universal flies... however, if you're relatively new to fly fishing maybe a wet fly team would be better......#If i had to pick three flies for a cast it would be the greenwells glory, the black and peacock spider and a goldhead march brown........good luck.
  8. Make me a couple, I'm bleeding useless at making stuff!!
  9. Hares. Fascinating little beauties ain't they? If anyone has seen my books then they'll realise I spend ALOT of time watching them and, I am very lucky to have witnessed some amazing behaviour, stuff that I have never, ever read about and I've been lucky to have got photographs of said behaviour too. But that's for another project. Anyways, I have never heard of a hare using the same seat two days running, I had always presumed that they make a fresh seat every day. Anyways.......Yesterday and I'm doing a bit of rooting about, manages to stumble into a hare in her seat, real close, about
  10. Rhodies won't be any use as nothing eats and, rarely, nests in them! Bullys want rowan and honeysuckle......Goldies are more of a thistle type of bird. You're best planting a wild bird game crop and see what comes in....
  11. You wouldn't have seen that 25 years ago, they seem so much tamer today. I guess they've become humanised, and regard us as givers of food. Lovely birds they are too.
  12. Doc traps Get a grip.. One word ....Messer... You stick to your thermal gay imaging you complete messing wannabe fur trapper. You're just moody cos you missed the fur...again!! But seriously, ignoring big nose's silly comments, does anyone know if the DOC is passed for mink, and if not, why not?
  13. Stop being negative pro-trapper.....I'm hoping that a DOC trap will elevate my status so I too can walk around with my trousers tucked into my boots..
  14. And are they going to approve the DOC 250 for use against mink??Does anyone know?
  15. We could do with a good war.....it might put things in perspective for a lot of people....
  16. Out for less than an hour today, with the trusty old Falcon. In a week the woods had really greened up and everything's just that little bit harder to see. In all honesty i could have shot a bit more gear but I wanted to concentrate on the woodies. Apologies for the quality of the photos, the light was crap and I had my poor lens on, so they may be a bit blurry. As luck would have it i watched a pair of jays feeding each other in some oaks, I know where their nest is so I might try and do some more pics of them when they're feeding young. the woods are full of jays here, there's absolutely l
  17. Absolutely.... you're right, birds should be wild, what's point in having them hand steady, in fact what's the point in keeping them in captivity when we should be observing them through a pair of binoculars? I know you're new to birds, you'll change your opinion on how steady birds are when you try and breed some british. You'll soon come to the conclusion that, it's impossible for aviary birds to be steady enough. But don't take my word for it....ask these chaps, their mommy would let me hand feed her on the nest..... and that, to me, is probably the pinnacle of my whole bird ke
