  2. IF there is a God that man will be pardoned. Surely there will be insufficient evidence......
  3. Would love to see a few Carl.....
  4. Out of our six deer species only sika and red can hybridize....Looks a good sized one there.
  5. Thats wrong matey. I have seen the wording on a license for a .410 pistol that it is to be used for foxes and small vermin only. Foxes are actually named. If you want a .410 pistol and you have sufficient reason to need one then you cannot be declined as long as you have been a good boy. That's the law and thats a fact.
  6. November, colour variaton amongst roe seems to be rare, but i have noticed a large amount of variation amomgst the roe with regards the gorgets. Some have a large gorget whilst others have none. I, personally, have not seen a single example of colour variation amongst the capreolus that i have photographed, though i know some do exist. I was always lead to believe they are much more common on the continent, with Holland in particular having a high ratio of melanistic roe... Deer, what an amazing topic.... JD
  7. I'de go completely the other way, .22 is the perfect despatch tool if your up close and personal, the .410 is far to noisy to fire next to a dogs head. The .22 short is as good as useless and doesn't carry the punch. The .410 is to loud and creats a load of smoke you can't see through for two or three minutes. Never had an issue with smoke, even when used 2 1/2 inch cartridges. Don't need a back up shot either like some of the.22's i have seen. It's each to their own, but I think the .410 is a great tool. Its not as temperamental as the .22's i have seen. A mere suspicion of mud and t
  8. Earth, if you get chance to watch a .410 pistol in dispatch you won't want any other type again. Personally i do not rate .22's. The .410 is a perfect tool for humane dispatch. The choice of weapon is easy, the hard part is getting your certificate.......
  9. Jasper , i had alot of trouble with cats when i kept british birds. Ifthe cat likes your birds then why not let it try its luck with an eagle owl.
  10. Carrots......NEVER again!

  13. DIDNT BUDDY COME FROM J YOUNG KARLSBERG? MAN THAT HAD BOB, SIRE OF INDIE & CARSSON?. YOU ARE RIGHT MATE ABOUT HIS STUD POTENTIAL////, A PROVEN SIRE FROM THAT BREEDING IS TO ME WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD having seen a good number of his prodgeny run i wouldnt be surprised if we all look back in five years time and say Buddy may be the best coursing stud that there has ever been for throwing good quality pups across the board. Also i wouldn't be awfully surprised if the 'cream gene' becomes overly dominant in the world of coursing dogs, those capable of performing to a high standard thro

  17. It sure is an eerie sound the old sika stag whistling.....Makes the hair on the back of my neck crawl.
  18. Also, more importantly, are the qualities Buddy throws into his pups that you cannot see.... Surely Buddy is one of the top producers of the modern time? was buddy a good dog himself ? I wouldn't know, but he is a good producer....and that is the fact that matters when using the dog at stud. JMHO JD

  22. You could also have a "point" there ginger pubes, but the only one out of the six which a single dog isnt capable of taking on a regular basis without the aid of accidents, fences, ditchs etc etc is a red stag....JMHO as you put it That was the species I was refering to when i said 'attempted' .....A good mature fallow buck always took some stopping in the daytime.....
