  2. Its madness! And to think some were moaning that i charged £33 for it....... To be honest, its probably worth a little bit more than i charged but no where near those daft figures.
  3. is that your next seasons dog? is it same way bred as your others, looks a tidy dog , have you finished the book on training lurchers your way yet Cantona, I will let you into a little secret :secret: .....Looks don't kill...and neither does that dog! But he is an experiment that will hopefully have a conclusion that may prove, or disprove, my thoughts on certain matters. To save anyone spending their hard earned 'queens head' on the future book that i have spent a while on with, the basic gist of the whole thing can be summed up in three words "There's no rush" But such a public
  4. It would have been if i had got the bloody thing in focus! I think I need a refresher course in photography! Maybe its the seemingly obligatory 'to hand' insert, that is fooling the camera... No, i was actually photographing the lovely wall in the background!! That's in focus... Will get some better ones soon when i get me new pup......
  5. What big hands you have, all the better to................. Pick my big nose with!!! (thought i had better get that in before some other barsteward did!)

  7. You need to buy proper soak seed. I always used Haiths. The method we used is to chit the seed on a two day cycle using two cut-down plastic pop bottles.
  8. I hope you like hospital food Boyzone... :black eye:
  9. Personally I don't think food/treats are in any way beneficial to gaining a polished performance on the retrieve.... I don't want the retreive to be a 'game' or 'fun', I want it to be a 'conditioned act' But, we each have our own methods Good Luck....JD
  10. is that dog not called Class? same litter, could well be wrong though, seen it in Running Dog Addiction Book, smashing looking animal regardless No, the caption in that book is wrong...... Don't blame me....Blame Bolio!

  13. With the dog walking at heal and off the lead one of those whippy willow stems can make them think twice. Good Luck
  14. Artic, there are indeed lots of liars about, In fact i do not have a big nose, i have a small head. Frightened? Moi?....
  15. Yes Artic, your correct, seeing them in the flesh helps evaluate things... This is me just measuring him up to see if he is big enough for a beddy/whippet to take....Nah...not quite big enough!
  16. I bet he's gonna be a rough, tough cookie the next time he see's a dog! In my youth i loved hearing tales about a red stag in the midlands that wouldn't run from a dog, instead once the lamp hit him he turned and faced the dog(s). To my knowledge no one ever got him, none of the lads i knew anyway and I am sure he killed a dog, or at least badly injured one. I will find out the full story though.... Got to be one of the best threads for a good while that hasn't turned into a slagging match. Good pre-ban hunting folks....JD was that not a hand reared one that was released into the wi
  17. thats the biggest point for me an one thats being missed by most here mate. some dogs i would like to think could do it in the end, but it aint sport, it aint neccessary, and its downright f***ing cruel, not to mention stupid. just hope there arent some young lads on here with big dogs thinking 'i bet ours can'. could all end in tears well said mate Well in that case, lets not hunt at all. Lets all turn veggy. Because hunting involves cruelty (depending on your definition). Is it cruel when wolves make a kill on a large stag? This is no different! It isnt neccessary to hunt rabbits

  20. Zacky the gypsy, all Willard Price books and, of course Danny the Champion.... As for non -fiction, I must have read "A Poachers Tale" 1000 times in my childhood. Top read!
  21. At those prices i wouldn't be surprised if criminal gangs start pinching poults to order....

  23. Of course reds get taken every year with running dogs. I don't think anyones arguing that But does anyone have a dog(s) that can do them consistantly? Or are they one offs? taken when the deer has all the odds stacked against it........ Bunnys, you seem to talk a bit of sense, so when you say "TYPE OF ANIMALS AND YES THEY ARE HAS MUCH MADE HAS WELL HAS BRED" are you saying that you know, pre-ban, of dogs that could do red stags consistantly? Or, was it more like one stag a season? I'm just curious as red deer get my utmost respect as the ultimate land mammal our Isles has to offer.(Pre-ba
