Hi HairyBush, Believe it or not once upon a time Reindeer were introduced to England from Lapland, but they never thrived.
What many of us fail to realise is that Reindeer (caribou) were indigenous to our Isles quite recently. They, of course, died out, but man has introduced them again on several occasions in the past couple of centuries. None of these prospered and it wasn't until 1952 , when The Reindeer Council of the United Kingdom was formed that any progress was made. From Sweden a number of these deer journeyed and they have remained on the Cairngorms ever since. Sadly when i visited
