  1. Your gonna need to explain that photo please mate...... Too Close for the camera to focus......The inconsiderate swines....
  2. They come too close..... Still, the rest of the shots weren't too bad....
  3. Don't be silly petal, just having wild thoughts. Darcy, there are many loop holes like I have said earlier, If your friend owns the land, then we have trespass with intent. It's a big old rule book, and it can send you round the twist , BUT there will always be a Charge for an offence. Leave that to the CPS. artic, the question i asked was whether the earlier statement about owning the pheasant because it is on your land is incorrect or not? Law has always held a particular interest to me, I could debate about it til the cows come home. I guess that you are agreeing
  4. On your property they do not become 'yours' unless they are enclosed or dead! On your property you have the right to take them by legal means, but thats it. Wild is wild, no man can possibly 'own' a wild animal unless it's either enclosed or dead....Thats my take on it.....Anyone? If a pheasant is on my land, then I can shoot it, catch it, trap it. It does not need to be dead. Owning, meaning "It belongs to a person/s" is a different ball game. Pheasants wonder as do cats, thats were the Theft Act comes into play if foul play is committed. Trying to explain "Law" is very diffi

Ok then........if that was the way of thinking if the farm next door to me in the middle of the night 1 of the gates opened and all his sheep wandered onto my field surely i could close the gate and now they belong too me, right?..... I said earlier on that its a 'moral' view on how you go about poaching game b

  9. Google a pic of a goosander..... As Miles said...he beat me to it, the sod!
  10. lovely pics. A yellowhammer and a marsh tit if i am not mistaken.... ....or maybe a yellowhammer and a young coal tit..... the white patch at the back of the head usually means a coal tit, not a marsh tit.... It looks like that one has the start of a patch, so perhaps a juvenile coal..... Its a great tit.
  11. lovely water, altho bailif is an absolute tit, lol. Up a few times in 2009.for the weekend bud never seen a bailif. After buying or permits From the small post office.Just at the start of the loch.. right. He is a bit of a guillie and a keeper and a twat! Many years ago he spent over an hour searching for livebait around us, in the woods, bivvys, fields etc. It was quite funny. He kept saying we had been reported by other anglers. Because it wasnt possible to catch so many fish in a short space, lol. We had something like 14 doubles with 4 20's in a morning.... The funny
  12. You wouldn't believe the back claw on those tiny birds........Its HUGE! They will be nesting very soon methinks.... Tell me are they a common sight? And are they countrywide spread or certain areas. And do they nest on the ground, or in walls etc? Yes, they are more common than what many think, but only on suitable ground. Basically rough moorland and heath is what these guys like. They nest on the ground and their eggs are very nice indeed. One of the cuckoo's favourite victims..... really, interesting. So they are the little bird that flush as you alomst st

  14. Sometimes farmers buy them at auction if they are going for a song, other times they escape. Either way, if he were a wild beast you would do well to get near him for i have found the true wild ones to be fairly bloody flighty!! But, living where he does, he may not have a particularly bright future for someones going to have a go....... Great Pics though.....
  15. Romany, Judging by his antlers i would say that it is my belief that this stag is of 'park'deer stock and not wild stock. He is probably a wandering escapee mate.
  16. thanks for that. just wish id got the cock bird, they are stunning. Well, I have fond memories of a certain female , she really was a superb bird, and though i tried, i could never get her to make a proper nest...shame.
