  4. A couple of things you might want to remember.....if you wish to take shots of dogs (or anything else) running then it's best to have the focal point in the centre of the photo, that way you have a better chance of a crisp, focused shot....and practice on manual settings as this is what will get you the very best photos, allowing you to maximise the shot with the light available. Thats the very essence of photography: light. You've got to maximise the light or it will minimise you..... good luck. JD
  5. ...just look for the pattern of hills, trap on the bottlenecks and runs leading into the field.
  6. Very similar to 'Johnny Rotten'...making silly statements to try and stir up controversy, but it has the opposite effect. But, that said, How Soon Is Now is one of my fave songs....JD

  12. I often wonder.....on such websites, in general, how many pups are being sold that have been bred from stolen terriers.....?? We all say "where do all these stolen dogs go?"....well....maybe they get pupped constantly to supply the insatiable demand for "working" terriers... Just a thought....JD
  13. It isn't just about numbers though is it, it's about more than that. A polished performance is what I like to see, thats why I spend many hours training. When I was younger, with much less experience, all I wanted was a dog to 'kill'. Today things are more refined, hunting for the partnership of dog and man.A dog 'doing it's own thing' is not a partnership, in my opinion anyway. If there's alot of rabbits in a field a good dog making a retrieve straight back to hand shouldn't disturb any, in fact, a dog can be guided back to hand on a wavering route to avoid spooking a rabbit that is squat in
  14. Very good set up. Just a thought though, make sure the pups don't get too warm....
  15. Let's hope the young fella's hooked for life.......
  16. That belly of yours would get any woman worried..........
  17. Women and children might see this post.
  18. Two 'coursing bred dogs' with 69......... Tomo's favourite number. A fantastic night, good weather and good craic. Just what it's all about.
  19. IMO a 'cat and dog' vet isn't that much use on running dogs. Seek a specialist.
  20. One of the hound lads in the area will have lost it.....keep feeding the poor dog until it's owner is found.
  21. Well, It was only my opinion.....I have to say that i've personally never seen anyone slip on a rabbit at plus yards at night. And I've spent my whole life lamping. Other critters are a different matter, but even with those yards is still a long slip and before long they will be out of the beam if they don't run your way. That said, it's only lamping and, in all honesty, I don't judge my dog (s) on what they do at night, it's daytime where they are graded. But each to their own and good hunting. Surely you've hunted all over the country and possibly in other countries too. In certai
