  1. Only 34? Must have been a bad turn out that day!
  2. This thread is priceless, some right c**ts in this game.
  3. Shit I dont have many on the computer, they are all still as photographs never scanned them on..heres a couple.. might get more done at some point, but wont be for a while, im away abroad again very soon. And I found a couple of those wee coves too
  4. Got ya mate... seen a few 3/4 bulls and they did their owners proud. And if brought up to hunt, by heck they can hunt...gps tracker recommended. Hope yours turns out how you want it to, all the best
  5. Spent a summer there one time... hunted hares in a fence with a guys young hounds lol he owned the appartment I stayed in... they are mad keen, but only really get a 3 month season each year, to hunt the hare due to weather I think. Anyway I also had a cat, identical to that one, that hung around my apartment! Love the cricket, and the lizard pictures... I had a lot of fun catching bass or whatever they were in the river, and always getting harassed by the terrapins. I was told to mash bread with cheese and a bit of water and mould it round the hook, lol this bait did not work, but by feck th
  6. my 3/4 bull bitch looks like a half cross so i will hopefully breed her to a half cross type and pick the 1/2 cross type from the litter. Its type we are after isnt it? Its ability we should be after... only constant work in the field over several seasons will judge if the dog is the right 'type' for you...
  7. Would be nice to see this dog... Keep in touch
  8. Saw a couple of catahoula's work if Florida a good few years back, they reminded me of some of the driven farm curs we had around as kids. That cross maybe experimental, but be interesting to see how it pans out The catahoula is not unlike a british farm dog in work style, casting out to find ranched cattle/hogs, but many lines are bred solely for finding and baying up hogs in the woods, this is the stuff I got a pup from. They are a type of dog that cross very nicely, especially with bull blood. In australia they cross catahoula into most pig dog and staghound (lurcher) pig dogs, with g
  9. Was cleaning out the freezer the other day, and as you do uncovered a few bags of random frozen wildlife... A few albino moles... which have gone to a guy local And a road kill red squirrel that is in perfect condition... open to offers DnN
  10. Myself and mates plan to put my bull/grey over a couple of non sight-hound blooded working dogs in the future... not to produce lurchers, but hunting dogs. That cast out keenly, find stuff anywhere, track hard and fast, kill small vermin, mark trees and dens, hold game, and bay up big shit... multi purpose hunting dogs. But we got certain jobs lined up that suits this breeding. So they will be 1/4 greyhound (roughly) from the dog. The bitches in mind are a gwp who is doing great so far and catahoula cur.. but it all depends on if these bitches make the grade (gwp is not far off), as we will be
  11. Send me the same Pm please, if yu have any info I would be VERY interested! Cheers, Mitch Theres stuff much closer to you mate... but Im not in touch with anyone down there that takes clients out. I am sure if you put a post on the stalking directory you will get sorted no bother. Hope that helps.
  12. All good then Bullmastiff... got me proper... messer
  13. Depends on the breed or cross, but 18 weeks or so for most stuff that Ive had. Leghorns were the most productive that i kept. Hope that helps.
  14. Bull mastiff... you are talking the biggest load of shite Ive heard on here for a long time... It was only a few years back, when I still thought you were 'ok' you had your bull/grey and your thick as f**k mastiff bitch, and you made a huge deal about breeding them together, you were on here all the time asking folks opinions etc and now it seems you must be pumping litters out of the poor bitch all the time if you sell the ammount of shit you say you do. 50 years experience go f**k yourself, your not even 50 yourself dick head. Total messer and liar of the highest order! As for tra
  15. heavy base line lurchers, ie, not the ones standing on their back legs? Obviously
  16. Start a decent thread, see how that goes perhaps?
  17. I usually don't leave much in the way of trout for the dogs lol... but I often fillet the fish for me, and give the dogs the head/spine/tail which has its share of goodness .. .otherwise I would feed raw sections of whole trout to them.
  18. I often wish we all scrap names/titles altogether, these debates seem so pointless. We all have differing lines of terriers, they cant all fall into 3/4 types, there are hundreds of different strains and lines in reality. So many different coat types and colours, shapes/sizes, and so many differing working styles. Their all working terriers, that hopefully keep their owners happy, and do their job well. Whats the hardest, some lakies are hard, some are out n out bayers, some pat are hard, some pats are proper bayers, same with russells, same with borders, same with fells... but all beddies are
  19. Best of luck with the breeding D, hope you get just what your after
  20. I ordered my Field Crafter knife from midnight last night.... and it was here this morning! This is what a lass feels like when she has given birth after a long labour. Now for the patina.... mustard and vinegar... should put some chips in the deep fat while I'm on with this! DnN
  21. I start my pups on shite rough land, Im not starting a dog on flat big easy going land, then going to where I hunt regular and expect that to have taught it how to run bad land. My dogs run scree, over and around cliff faces, deep heather, forestry, cut blocks, as well as the nicer fell type land, and some low land areas aswell.... I consider the low ground as no challenge at all. So not a place to start as pups learn nowt about running canny on it
