  1. Good luck with her, hope she works well DnN
  2. Personally, I don't agree with that......education is one of the most important things to me for my kids.......yes sometimes it's boring for them, yes it's a drag sometimes but as I always say to them "it's easy to be ordinary, that takes no effort at all" I was released from full time education at 14 because I was a complete dick and have knocked my bollocks out since a week after that, but if I had the education knowing what I know now, I would never have to work again. Each to their own but it's school, school, school for mine I think at home or on the farm, or even in the wood
  3. I take my kid out of school all the fecking time, and always will. There are often more important things happening in our lives than school ffs. I wont let my lad miss out on special events that happening outside of school. some things are far more valuable than learning a load of mind numbing shite day in day out. lol
  4. Handy looking team, Nice pics, Lovely wee hound that.
  5. Good luck mate, they are great dogs that will hunt all day, every day. Ive never been to a rehoming place before, but I would think many will be backwards as f**k regarding natural, normal activities, such as hunting.
  6. Half spaniel half terrier? Wouldn't this type be able get to ground tho? I no a lad who's mate bred a litter of spaniel Russell's and the majority of the litter will go to ground....ever if they come out after an hour or so I couldn't cope with that.lol Its a gamble I guess. The ones I had didnt follow foxes under. And the terrier part was from proper digging dogs. I also like the cur type, like those hot meat bred, a good spaniel over one of those wee curs when its ready should do the trick lol
  7. Not really mate, Im sure there are plenty of dogs that would turn their nose at an angry pig...Did you go to see a gwp to buy? How did that go?
  8. Hi Mustelid, Cheers, aye the bitch weighs 30 kg, and I guess she stands about 24'' to the shoulder.
  9. 1/2 spaniel should give you something that wont go miles, plus a trainable type in my opinion.
  10. Cheers bud, not long now and we will see how she does... its not like she hasnt seen a bit up to now mate... Ive got a good idea she likes pork. DnN
  11. Same here, no issues. Mine even bred and raised their own chicks on the fell.
  12. Mine is 18 months now...She is mainly bred from imported stock from Denmark, the line were used mainly for tracking shot deer/boar. Mine was also working well from young. I work her as a gundog, shooting all feathered game over her, she works well, points well, great retrieve... I also hunt fox, deer and boar. But she has not seen a boar yet, she will be starting on boar mid January, a weeks hunting in Hungary, should make or break her. She loves foxing. She loves squirrel hunting. . She has hunted 2 black bears in Canada, where she spent 5 months of this year. One a sow with 2 cubs
  13. I remember liking the parents, if its your own stock that they were bred from? Hope you get them in the right hands mate, thats the battle. DnN
  14. They are very popular up in the North East. As well as the deer/grey x sal/grey type. Ive got a bitch who is about 1/2 deer/grey 1/4 collie/grey 1/4 coursing type, who is decent enough for edible game
  15. I got a soaking, and I dragged the mrs out with me too lol, bitch had a couple of grueling runs, and a few in the bag, was only out for 2/3 hours on rough hilly land... wind was strong, which helped a few times getting up to quarry. Bitch is ready for another go tonight.
  16. I havent known it in the line of russell types we have up here.
  17. It would be an absolute sin to get one of these as a 'posh pet'... very sad. They are hunters through and through.
  18. he would pop under no worries mate. your call, I dont give a f**k if you loose him
