  2. Im not gonna watch it. cant be wasting my time on it.... if shit actually effects me one day instead of just hearing a load of shit day in day out.... I shall run for the hills and not look back. f**k em
  3. worth a laugh.... and to be fair the guy shows good handling skills, and knowledge. Some of his other videos are just as erm, good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wynx1ukwdVA
  4. Feckin hell Rob that's bad luck mate! But again, a hell of a story! Cheers! Just ordering an olive green field crafter knife off our midnight... what a quality, strong piece of kit. I am positive it will do me proud. Just got to try not to loose it! DnN

  6. Fooken hell socks, well that sounds like a story and a half! That area around Banff looks amazing.
  7. Flying into Toronto... heading out North to a cabin in the woods. From there we set away by canoe, could go for hundreds of miles. Probably go for a couple of weeks up the river/lake system. Then heading out East by car, right through Ontario, out to Nova Scotia to the coast. My other half, along with my pointer pup, are over in BC at present, so we will all meet up in Toronto for the trip. Im taking my blue bitch over aswell. For the canoe trip, we are taking just basic dried foods, along with fishing gear, tents, and a few luxuries...just a relaxed paddle, along with nature, not a ma

  9. They do look fecking beauties mate, Maybe one day. I was just looking at a f1 in sambar antler, with a top notch sheath and antler handled fire steel. Top drawer. Maybe next year.
  10. cheers bud! Ive been looking at Matts knives on his last thread.... like a kid in a sweet shop lol.... not as traditional as I usually go for, but they should do the job and I will gladly support the THL knife maker! Job done!
  11. I am speaking with the gentleman in question just now....
  12. I will be looking at this knife Paulus, cheers for posting! That's quite a review! I must wait for midnight to log on before I make any decisions, he is held in high regard it seems! Cant thank you all enough for the help. I was a bit panicked on the drive down today, as time is ticking, and to be honest the knife is the No 1 piece of kit! Last minute as usual for me!! But I feel way more confident of finding something maybe even a bit more special than expected! Many thanks DnN
  13. That IS of huge help forester, thankyou very much indeed.
  14. Im off to Canada in a couple of weeks.... going totally feral out there. Heading into the vast Northern forests for a few weeks with the dogs etc... So, there are a couple of essentials that I must try and get before I go. Now, I have knives, but I want/need a really good general purpose field knife, a good quality blade is essential, it will get loads of grief with me. Ideas for a good pocket sharpener would be really good too. I would spend up around 100 quid, Im sure this sort of money should get me what Im looking for. I like antler handled, full tang, leather sheath ..... Many
  15. Until Friday, but I will pm you a few hot spots that are producing numbers right now, I will be out tonight, shame I cant go right now, the tide is coming in, looks good out there!
  16. Haha aye Blyth is a f***ing right laugh, loads of sluts.... the mackerel they are getting there are half the size of the west coast fish, in general, but in huge numbers. Im up loch long just now.... caught 7 off the rocks here last night, and a couple of smallish Pollock too. Watch out for those blyth lasses mate, they are mental! But good fun!
  17. They are about the west coast, but patchy distribution, last years hot spots are often dead, yet other places are heaving with them. Argyll. My dogs have been feeding on Mackerel for a while now, among other fish and stuff. I never buy mixer, but my dogs also get my food waste.
  18. For wild ducks, you cant beat hand feeding. As you don't want to ever over feed the ducks or they can be a bit late coming in! With hoppers and self feeders, they don't get the urgency required for good dusk flighting, as they could easily feed at any time. You should count them in from a hiding place regularly, and feed accordingly to the numbers. An auto feeder can work well, if managed properly. Feed in the shallows in the morning, or set the feeder away in the mornings, this also puts any lazy ducks off the pond, and gets them into a proper dusk flight routine for good shooting, never feed
  19. Why don't folk let big pups run outside, on grass or in a large pen? Some might not have much space but I don't like to see a litter of pups cooped up in a tiny pen with no stimulation, and especially covered in their own shit! ffs. They should be running riot at that age, exploring, learning... every time I rear, they get run of the farm yard, they make for way cannier, intelligent young dogs.
  20. Deffo not too young, Ive been taking my son out with me since he was a few months old, digging, trapping, shooting, fishing, lamping, hounds, you name it, I am not with his mother any more, so when I have him, he comes out with me.. in a carrier on my back when he was tiny. He loves it! He is 4 now, and I am pleased with how he is coming on. I think younger the better, as they enter easily and take it all in their stride, nothing shocks my lad he has seen it all. Ive even hung him in a tree in his carrier as I dig to the terrier! He loves being out. And is like a tornado in the house, so muc
