  1. I dont think I'll be back until mid September... but Im really grateful for the offer anyway! I'm going to miss the fishing through the summer, last year the mackerel came in mid/late April into the Clyde, fingers crossed i'll hook a few before I go. Been getting the odd pollock off the rocks recently. But Ive not done much from a boat, that opens up a whole world of opportunities! Have a good summer mate, hope your fishing goes well! DnN
  2. Catalunya Got tons more, but il have to upload more onto the photobucket! Updates to come soon# Good Hunting DnN
  3. Gorge du Tarn... somewhere in the south of france lol Caught Chub a-plenty, but not much else. Great canoeing, and cliff jumping.
  4. Griffon Vulture... from above lol Old bull lurcher having a morning piss, getting harrassed by the locals who woke us up with their bells!
  5. Spain mainly aye met some good hunting folk, and seen some great places and wildlife.
  6. I know a few operators in South Africa, and they dont suffer many losses to bush pig, shame when it happens, but its not the norm to have numbers like that killed. In general bush pigs are bailed up and shot without issue. Hopefully one day I will get down there and have a go myself, but Id rather a catch dog and knife, f**k the gun
  7. But whats it going to catch Pork.. (edit). as well as hunting/flushing, tracking shot game, catching and holding big game that may have been shot, so needing stopped for dispatch etc I'm straying off topic now though, but your totally right. I used to kill tons of foxes but not any more. When I did I got hold of the best tool for the job in my opinion, and that opinion is still the same today, a well bred, line bred Bull Lurcher wont be beaten for daily vermin control day and night. Ive got bullx....Ive got pointers.... There is nothing wrong with a good bullx nose at all, they can hun
  8. I was just over on Isle of Seil Today, its a bonus being able to drive across the atlantic instead of ferry crossings!! mind when your up castle sween way this year give us a shout get you out fishing Im there till late April, then away to Canada...
  9. A wheaten pointer.... would be some tough fecking mutt! (wooly aligator)
  10. Mate, they are born hunters. And will litterally hunt anything or everything you want them too from partridge to bear. Easy trained, easy going dogs too. I wouldnt go near a pure greyhound personally but Id consider a good lurcher over pointer. The first gen might be sluggish, but back to lurcher these would be the business I reckon. Im doing more with wild boar abroad in the future, so bull lurcher over pointer would do the trick nicely for them as well as fox, and vermin. Just thoughts at the minute though
  11. Seen a few that were decent. Hunted moors really well, found and killed fine... I own pure wirehair pointers. But for an out n out vermin muncher, bull cross are in my opinion, top of the tree. Their coat is sometimes too thin though, the ammount of days weve put one to ground, and my bull lurchers have had to sit about in the shittest weather, makes for a sorry sight lol until charlie bolted anyway!

  13. You guys know what these dogs are like, if given the chance. Ive still got old Bud who is often described as a pack of hounds in 1 dog lol I saw him hunt up 5 foxes and kill 3 of them at 11yrs old while 4 other lurchers didnt even know what was happening.I was just pleased my bitch had a couple that day or i would have been as gutted as the other lads out that day. Sound like the sort of muts im on aboot, good stuff.
  14. Back in those days it was a constant battle to keep foxes off the grouse so it was every day, and every fox had to go... I do miss it, but that kind of pest control is full on, with a touch of stress along with it as its a job on the line too.
  15. you don't want much then ? What he has said isnt asking the impossible. true, but its the exception rather than the rule IMO Its no exception.... just KEEN dogs, with a good nose, (and some brains) is all i must be mixing in the wrong circles! what cross has been your preference over the years. Good lurcher x good lurcher is what I prefer. I keepered mile after mile of hill ground, empty barren land, that if a keen lurcher wants to catch game, IT HAS TO USE ITS NOSE, otherwise it would see f**k all. My lampers were fecking nuts mate, and far from everyones cup of tea, they
