  2. Thanks mate, yeh the big bugger coming to 10 this year, he still likes to mooch about in the woods, and knock out the odd munjack or fox, loves going out,. He not bad for his age, lost bit of pace now, but big dogs do quicker than small dogs. He be my last lurcher, when he gone prob couple years, I prob just get mongrel thing from the pound, that's if still want a dog, had lurchers over 30 years, let's hope I am still about me self by then lol
  3. Had nice walk this morning, with Buck and little woody, by the sheep and lambs. Buck brill with them, get few lambs follow him about lol, and considering what he had his mouth on over the years, his training was spot on. I've always said Keep showing them, sheep and lambs all the while, there never to old to see them. Little woody no chance, sheep, cattle, and especially hisses, any think that not a dog, he was rescue dog as I've said before, my lad had 4 years, I've had him near 3, I think he about 12, Buck 10 in august, I am 70 in august as well, we all old feckers in my gang lol.
  4. spot on , looked as awkward as hell and very easy to get a lower back injury from it, she done brill deff
  5. Just bit more update with this sheep post, was out today with Buck and little woody, like said the sheep are with young lambs now, like said Buck brill with them, woody not, so that prat stays on the lead. I did bump into a mate and nephew with young lurcher 3 month old pup, pup was OK just socialising with people and other dogs. It was nice friendly pup, Buck was good with it, woody OK. But I did. Notice that the pup was loose, no lead, and not showing any intreast in the sheep. I said this all OK as yet, but you should show the sheep under bit more control (lead) because, sooner or lat
  6. haha i ssould have got rid of the wife instead haha like it , i did try muzzling that kelpie/ collie x grey bitch few times, but like working round with apbt, but she was prob worse as she have people as well, most of staffs and pit were good with people
  7. yes and no mate, yes all dogs are different . the main thing is more so a young dog, that been used on deer, ( yes) it knows the difference from a smelly old sheep , and a fallow or a roe, but some times if the bloods up, and it pulled couple deer , it could grab a sheep , not saying it would , but could in that 15 sec of madness . like said you got to knock it in to them that sheep are a no no, and sheep equals pain. like right now lot of sheep got young lambs with them, Buck brill , ive had lambs following him about and smelling him lol, little woody a no no, sheep, hosses, cattle any
  8. nice pups , dont know what it is , the one pup always looks subdued , with it head and ears back, you get few pits like that bit sensitive , the not all head bangers lol , but didn't affect them as working dogs though .!
  9. OK mate, fair enough, that crap, hope they hunting people with dogs, can kick it out, don't end up like us, feckin lamping getting like day time running hares, with every fecker on your back. They only got to see a lamp=beam of light and they on the phone to the cops, was bad enough with keepers after you, and few farmers, now everybody on your back. I am glad in one way that I don't lamp like did when. Ist started 30 years ago, now it the odd night out, but most times just mooching about woods etc, feel sorry for young people starting out today, I can see why lot of people drop out, with a
  10. I thought, hunting with dogs ban, was in the UK anway so Scotland in it anyway?. Rabbits are legal on ground with permission, if not permission, there included in the Ban with hares and deer, foxes,. Think with terriers its foxes only to protect game birds. Sheep farmers not included, god knows why not, when foxes regular kill young day old lambs. ?

    bench press

true that, alot of it down to your genetics , i might be your kind of shape iam 5ft 11 1/2 in 13st , now when i was younger and trained doing karate and weights , i got real fit/ strong i bench 265lb , ok not big weight to what some big lads lift, but iwas well over my natural body weight of 180 lb . i think maybe if tried harder might have gone 300lb . but in all that time 3years doing it i never got any bigger, just stronger. the guy who ran the gym , who won body building comps in the past, told me my frame wouldn't change much as it my genes , but he said that i was strong for
  12. thanks on that, it does make sense above, yeh like been said we all think our dogs are 100% , until that one day ?? . ive read that alot of collies , more so the old dogs, can end up killing sheep, maybe there brain goes bit loopy . my 2 have been good with sheep no prob , but as you know your self, that the collie moving sheep, giving the eye, its controlled instinct that been watered down, in them herding breeds, but not other breeds as much. ?
  13. pity , the owner of the dog, didnt give it good hiding , when he pulled the dog of the sheep , it was perfect right then hit the dog, with still holding the sheep down, get the dog on the lead , right over the sheep, then give the dog good hiding , you got be brutal , it got to get in the dogs head, that them wooly things mean pain if it get to close to them. it better to do this than , get the dog shot fact , hope you sort it out mate .
  14. with the double wire , its norm they have for cattle, you get the 1st lot from the fence, then its norm 2- 3ft away meaning the dog got to go up, and then dive out over the 2nd fence wire. it real dangerous for dogs, my big dog landed on top of the 2nd fence and bounced of the bloody thing, real lucky , but he had few bangs and bumps over the years, maybe his size helped him. But what i done when out lamping him, and came upon this type fencing , i show him the black fence wire with the lamp and it norm works , he jump that bit extra out, and clear it. regards the wound,it best to get it
  15. somebody might or even know of the guy , ok it social media and seems the norm today , people gobbling of on comps, phones, etc
  16. nice pup that , and like that type x . i was after one like that 15 years ago, but it was either pit x grey or collie x grey , found it hard to get your type x pup. if it comes out right, you have good lurcher for most quarry , but with all lurchers , you never really know what you get . i am looking for a herding dog kelpie or collie x beddy x whippet dog pup my self , i prob find that hard as well finding one .?
  17. like said sandy , that kelpiex collie x grey bitch i had was pure evil animal . one day i was mooching in field well away from the public path, a beagle type dog cam from god knows , went up to the bitch who was loose marking the edge . well i think the beagle thing was friendly , but the bitch went bang right into , got it round side of the head , a bloke + woman came running down path shouting , the bloke tried to pull her off his dog, his mrs screaming going mad. the pair of them couldnt get her of there dog, this bitch was about 23 in 50 odd lb , light brown in color she was more lik
