its a form of alopecia = baldness , greyhounds get it alot around the thighs etc, and as above pit x greys get it alot, and pit and staffs can get it as well. maybe get some stuff of the vet to rub in the areas , norm it to encourage hair growth , he know what to give you .

For Sale Golden Cocker Spaniel Pups For Sale
bird replied to maggot's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
i like all spaniels springers and cockers , but dont the reds have a different temp to the other colours , i think its called rage syndrome or somthing like that .? i know it sounds daft , because to me all dogs are different in any litter, it's each pup and how you bring it up , the ones ive seen were black and great little dogs , make great workers and pets -
Spot on prat, them fookers that come in my garden he can have them, ill ask them to leave and go to is place . like all rodents they got to controlled , rats and mice carry diseases , so got to keep on top of them. bloody hell some ive seen in my garden , would be full on sport for my sons little jack x woody, there bloody 1/2 his size, lol even Bryn and Buck looked twice must have thought they were rabbits lol. ive been here at my place near 2 1/2 years now, and never seen so many rats, next door keep stock , sheep, horses, alpacas, so always food about for rats, ive

not really sure ,deff not a 1/4, but just that enough that you could see the got bit of staff in them, but looked more in the males suppose because they were bigger heads and frame .

yeh i did prob more in the day than the night, she marked berry's,edges great, had good nose on her , and she pile into cover if there was a rabbit in there. and she put few bends into a daytime hare ok she wasn't a hare dog true, but bloody hell she get right on them quick, they drag her lol if i didn't get to her quick haha , she was 20in 20lb only little thing . But as i said the males were alot different 22 in 33 lb some where , a lad who had 2 brothers used them on foxes , they were tough little buggers . this was in 82-83 , raced then at cannock south staffs , and by B

when you look at alot of racing whippets, you can see that little bit of staff in them anyway from there early lines . when i had a racing none ped bitch, you could deff see the staff in some of the males down the track , some went up to 30-34 lb and deff showed that bit of staff in them, and strong little tough buggers they were as well. my bitch was 20in 20lb fast , and good on rabbits day/night. i reckon 1/4 bull 3/4 grey be spot on, just enough of the bull, and pits are agile for what they are, and prob get bit more leg , than from a staff that what was used back then in the 50-70

yep never had a prob doing that way, mix the 2 together , if they need meat on its own , i feed beef bones or give a frozen rabbits, which they love to crunch up , as above dogs stomachs handle easy .

Blaming Lampers !! Sheep Killed In Ireland .!
bird replied to Saluki246's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
yeh paul , was talking to a old farmer few years go, regards dogs and sheep, and he told that some working farm collies , that been round sheep 24 /7 from pups up to 7 years old, have flipped and stated killing sheep , he said to me never trust any type of dog 100% with sheep. and reading that report the farmer said his cattle were scared of dogs from lamping , well thats a new one, because most cattle will go for any dog in a field , feck me i had them chase the dogs out the field , never mind run from them. lol its just another way of keeping lampers with dogs of there ground -
Sounds handy. Can you stick a picture up John. Chickenman and GVC too if you see this. I liked the thinking behind that litter and would like to see how they turn out. + 2 thanks

what made you go for the malx grey john ? just fancied a change from the collie x grey ? , do you think you prob get bigger type dog ,and bit different temp . with that bit of mal in the mix .! dogs are strange things really , my big dog Buck 1 x gsd x grey , got a brill temp with people/ dogs very friendly to both he dont guard lol, but when hunting feck me he full on, not sure if its the greyhound coming through or the gsd , either way he up for it.
-
fair point , ive only seen a couple and like your self they deff weren't like that young dog, ok it still only a pup , but it not got the bone of a presser . the temp put me off them they never seemed relaxed /friendly even with there owner , but maybe its just the breed temp, i rather have a well bred gsd, they loyal and love there owners and would die for them if i wanted big heavy looking type guard i prob go for a rottie, but 80lb male gsd would stop most people.
-
spot on that for a pup /young growing dog , got to be honest with my 2 , they have 1/2-1lb raw mince chicken a day with dry meal = 3-5 small cups a day. now i get told alot how good my dogs look,Bryn 9 and full of life and looks well for his age,Buck looks spot on fit looking powerhouse . now this on the what i feed them above, Bryn i dont work and give Buck bit extra but same food if i work him .But as above bang the good grub into them as pups and young dogs

Bryn 9 now and he still got it regards the ferret game , as you know his marking spot on , and he gets to the right places when need be . But it just there legs loose them down a bit now regards speed, i was out the other week , when a charlie came through the edge in to the field , norm never a rabbit never mind old charlie boy lol , well old Bryn had run ,But Buck who 1/2 his age went like a rocket at it , fook me he nearly got it it made the wood and got away , but old
