  2. Yeah..top gear.. They are quite long in the leg... Wouldn't recommend mail order unless you are familiar with Harkila sizing!! It can be random to say the least.

All of the above is true..... But my personal preference is to fry it as part of a breakfast!! :piggy:
  4. Have you wormed the dogs? Coughing can be a sign the dogs need worming.
  5. I wouldnt give too much emphasis on protein content. I feed the lurcher andGSD one meal of rabbit mince (whole carcass) or fish and one meal of beef or tripe a day. They look fantastic, coat condition is out of this world.. They get a little mixer as a filler, but mainly meat. They obviously get a few veg and other bits and pieces..
  6. Honesty, with politeness... Advising them that they will enjoy the day more, if they take a few moments to listen to your advice..
  7. This is my court. My ferrets sleep in their hutches in the shed during the night, but go out in the court during the day. It has a concrete floor and dwarf walls, so they can dig safely to their hearts content. It also has a nest box, swimming pool, underground tubes and a large hammock. found another pic
  8. Tayside have always been ok with Me, I have everything I want. I have mentored a few shooters as well, and they always take you opinion on board with decisions. Usually a quick turnaround. My first tickets were issued in Cambs...they were ok too. but that was years ago..
  9. A sound moderator on a rifle does make a difference if you are down range of the shot. It prevents the sound being directional. You are not able to tell from which direction the shot came from, so if two animals were together, there is always the possibility of a second shot, or at least an animal will hesitate before moving, because it does not know which direction to go in. The health and safety benefits have already been covered. The down side is the weigh of the bloody things. I have an over barrel PES on my .243, and the balance has completely gone. The other thing is on a light ba
  10. At the top right of the first post in each topic. There is a box called options, click on the option titled 'standard'. It will revert it to the normal view!
  11. I taught my children to stand on the head and pull up with the back legs, very quickly and very swiftly. They can manage it, so you should give it a try. Just remember that they sometime twitch, even when they are dead. So don't beat yourself up about it too soon. Have courage in your conviction and just go for it.
  12. http://police.homeoffice.gov.uk/publicatio...pdf?view=Binary If you check on page 72 and 73, it specifically mentions good reasons to hold or posses a firearm.......(FAC shotgun) Anyone applying for such a condition should be aware of these conditions... Under the conditions listed it states that they are for use only on 'Avian species' such as pigeon and crows, and only vermin. With out being rude... if he has got the condition listed he will be very lucky.
  13. I have never heard of an FAC shotgun being ticketed for that purpose, so I stand to be corrected if that's the case. Anyone else heard of that? But those circumstances are still completely different to standing in a line in front of beaters.
  14. on our beaters day at the shoot where i beat the under keeper was loading for me with his benelli 10 shot simi auto, thats bloody good fun but like you say it takes a bit of getting used to, but atfer the first drive i was hitting most things that came over and didnt even need to reload more than once. but it takes a bit of getting used to having cartridge smelling gasses blowing out of the breech in your face. Now......not looking to start an argument..but I would be careful who you tell, because it is unlikely he will have game listed on his ticket. It is the same as shooting non
  15. Ask your self how many pigeon shooters cope suitably without an FAC rated gun..........you need to be able to justify why you need an FAC rated shotgun. It is not a simple as saying you want one. Even if you already have an FAC and put it in as a variation. Then your FAC will list which target species you can legitimately shoot. So if you have it for pigeon control and see a rabbit, you can not shoot it.You may get it on a closed ticket, which means you will only be ale to shoot it on the land approved..etc There are circumstances where professional vermin controllers can use them in niche
  16. Do they have one in pink??
  17. Why do you need an FAC shotgun??? Think...they will ask you the same question, face to face??
  18. Good Job Pete! Must learn myself sometime, but as it is at the moment...nice people keep bringing me very high quality ones, that are preventing me from embarrassing my self
  19. That would be some fox round!! And to think, the majority of what of reported by investigative journalists is actually believed by the masses!!
  20. I believe they take scent glands out in America as a cosmetic procedure...but I think it is illegal in the uk for non clinical purpose. Mine come in to house to play often, they are well behaved, and fun to play with...but they sleep outdoors!! Smelly link minxes!!
  21. Pigeon Pate is pretty good L.H. Dont spare the garlic
  22. This is my Defender setup... Shown in lamping trim, with sump guard, axle guard, steering guard. Off road tyres on steel wheels. Mr Adventure is shown here in his favourite shooting position, seen traipsing around the countryside most weekends. We operate in a pair, the driver lamping, but also use gun mounted lamps, or occasionally a separate lamper/gundog. A very good set-up. Which, on productive land, can account for good numbers.
  23. Happy Birthday Kay!! Have a great day Matty
  24. I think you'll find these recent arrivals, have been recent arrivals before....I recognise their style, and their choice of victims... They wont last any longer this time, than last time.... Just hope the sensible majority can keep it together, and keep it real, until the inevitable happens! Hold ya tongues, stick to the facts...we will ride the storm............again!!
