  1. I was out myself last night after the combines had finished..got a few, but was on my own, so wasn't very efficient. It opens up a lot of land that hasn't yet been shot for me, so yes, very good time of the year happy harvest folks!
  2. You will not go far wrong with a CZ .22lr. They are built to last, accurate enough for the task, and, maintain their value.
  3. I shoot 2-3 three times a week with my CZ style..... It gets thrown around in the land rover, treated like dirt, used in the wet, dry, snow, frost, sun...etc and by numerous different people, learners guest and shooting buddies, even the kids..It is virtually indestructable. It still fires every round acurately and consistently..It is a working rifle, not one for the glass fronted cabinet. But they same can be said for all my guns...tools....... not trophy's I could of afforded a more expensive rifle.........but didn't see the point, when it does everything so well.
  4. There are various opinions on this subject, Deker has done nothing legally wrong. If asked by a landowner to carry out proffessional vermin control, under legal circumstances, with a humane kill involved. I would have done the same thing. On my own stalking grounds, where a management plan is involved. No, I wouldn't. (thats the point..Sport verses vermin control) What I can agree with is that Deker has put forward his opinion, as as he has posted originally, he is entitled to his opinion. The other members should respect his opinion. They are also entitled to their opinion...it how it is dis
  5. If you put the sights directly on the rabbit at 20 yards, you probably pierced his ears, unless you held under. Assuming you zero'd at 30yards.
  6. It was all a bit of a blur........................ But 12 years ago now...

  11. I have just about finished my kennels for my lurcher and GSD. They will begin going out during the day when we are not at home, leading on to sleeping out at nights. I have taken care of all the locks, with bolts that cant be removed (coach type) and will begin strengthening the corners to stop boards being removed. I am no idiot...so I know the general does and dont's, and can make anything!! What I would like, if you are prepared to share, is experiences from kennel owners who have had timber kennels broken in to, and how??? I can not risk loosing my dogs..so any experience would be app

  15. Just changed my Nikko gold 3-9 x50 for a Hawke Nighteye SR6 3-12 x 50. AO IR Not the best optics in the the world, but acceptable, and the reticle is good and can be calibrated for the .22lr See pic below I WOULD recommend it, but dont expect miracles from the optics. I bought this scope to make long range shots more accurate........and it is just doing that!!
  16. A picture of the set up would be good Rob That sounds pretty decent..
  17. Well done girl.. All for a good cause. I must admit I'm slightly surprised at the lack of support as well, I'm sure it still isn't too late for some last minute donations folks!!
  18. On the legal side............. My FAC states to be used for 'for the protection of Humans and other animals' So I would say that covers it!!
  19. That's a strange term for a hunter to use isn't it?? I normally mince my 'Victims' for dog and ferret food.
  20. It could be marine ply which will tolerate the moisture content of the urine, in which case you could try just sealing it with a petsafe, waterproof varnish. Just give it a light sanding, then apply several coats of Polyurethane 'boat' varnish...sanding very lightly between coats. It will stop the penetration of liquid matter and allow the sawdust to soak it up..
  21. If you have a moderator on, take it off, and try to get a group again. If you haven't got a moderator, check the crown on the end of the barrel for damage. Check that all the metal work and woodwork is tight together..ie...not come loose. Including scope and mounts. Is it a floating barrel on the 10/22? If it is a floating barrel, make sure that it is not obstructed on the stock. Is it a new box of ammo? If it is, try another box. Check the scope cross hairs are not moving when you tap the scope, ie scope is 'fubared' That should get you started! Matty
  22. FFS........ RIP Sir Bobby..
  23. Depends on the intended usage and calibre mate.. It would be different for a centre fire target rifle at 1000 yards, to a rimfire for 50yards for the bunnies.. Perhaps you could narrow your criteria a little..
