I am in to a routine on in /out of vehicles all the time. Before I get in to a vehicle..I always cycle the bolt in front of my lamping partner to prove the rifle is empty..who ever that it may be. I have been doing this for the best part of 20 years, It is in my routine and muscle memory. I also expect anyone shooting with me to do the same. As I said, it may not be a problem for some, just me

This is a highly trained American sniper with his 50 caliber rifle which is his best friend. His assignment is to protect the 'Green Zone' in Baghdad , Iraq Basically his job is to prevent the terrorists from sneaking into the compound Below, we see Achmed. One day Achmed tried to breach the perimeter and got tagged from 1500 yards out. Note the vest laden with explosives. Achmed won't be doing this shit anymore!

My only concern with the Howa's, has been lack of a detachable mag. This may not be an issue for some, but my mags are in /out/in/out/in/out. To be honest it wouldn't suit me. My own feeling is that I would get lazy, this may not apply to you or others, only to my own situation. I always look for a detachable mag. I am sure it will shoot straight, have no quality problems etc.

with a mod or with out a mod...
mattydski replied to langouroux's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
PES, Bloody great over barrel MOD. Not good for balance, but works very well for sound reduction. I would try something else next time. -
was there not a 3 year warranty? They mostly have from Aldi, Lidl

£75 will get you going no problem at all. There are good enough scopes at that price. Try here Bushnell That link is to one particular brand, but if you search through Nikko Stirling, Hawke, Bushnell on the same website.. There are plenty to choose from. Keep it simple (3-9 x 40 or 50mm) or (4-12 x 40 or 50mm) or may be a fixed mag lens. You will not go wrong. If you wish to have aim points for ranges, then look at some of the various specialised reticles from Hawke, or simply get a Mildot and work out the distances on paper. If there is anything takes your fancy, stick it b

what is your budget? We will be able to come up with something suitable. If it is just for bunnies at 30 yards you wont need to spend a fortune anyhow!

We haven't seen any young at all. And we are hitting this place 3=4 times a week with night time shooting, daytime shooting and ferreting.

If it is pressure, then there will be a pressure gauge inside the bolier, and there will be a bypass line between the cold mains and the hot side of the boiler. (correct terminology???) You would open the valve until the pressure was correct, then close it again. What that pressure is, i'm not sure). If you open the front, and the pressure is low on the gauge, it could well be. come on plumbers?

If you could pass one law, What would it be ?
mattydski replied to whippeter69's topic in General Talk
Personally I would like to defend my own house against attack, I would like to defend my children from abuse and I would like the ability to help those in trouble, using reasonable force........without being prosecuted for some trumped up violence charge or fear of loosing my lifestyle (tickets). Some of the criminals/thugs/chavs/neds..may think twice about dumping rubbish in my woods, stealing my dog and verbally assaulting my family, if they knew the owner had a fecking big gun, an Alsation and an evil wife, and wasnt afraid to use any of them!! -
Yep, the girl did good. Under pressure, as she was leading the field as well.

it's ok I s'pose.......... ok............its nice

Fantastic colours in the bottom pics. And the way the movement of the water is frozen in the top one is very nice too!!

Put some winchester or Eley 40gr subsonics through it.. This model does not have a floating barrel, and it doesn't need it. Have a quick check of the crown. And recheck that everything it tight, stock, mounts, scope...everything!! The next thing to check is your scope..make sure it isn't FUBAR'd and loosing zero, or has loose internals etc. Are you shooting off a bag or some other suitable rest to maintain accuracy? Get someone else to try it too!

Well.......... I have a skill that I keep to my self (until now) I know how to break in to a lot of cars without damaging them.. Its something that has come in useful on many occasions, normally helping stuck colleagues in to their cars when the keys are locked in. (as many as three times a week for one of my previous friends) Now admittedly the skill is becoming less useful, given the increases in security, but I can still cut it. A few weeks ago I was asked to help a friend out on a Citreon C1, so I duly went and safely, cleanly broke in to the car in under 2 mins, without so

I run 3 Husqvarna's or Jonsered (red, not orange) chainsaws. They all earn a living, and are used heavily, i just prefer the ergonomics of the huskies to the Stihls. I have a 2054, a 365 and a 2152, My favourite though is a 357xp, as stated, run a .325 semi pro chisel chain on a 15" bar..........they are the dogs danglies!!

As a post editorial to this story, I would like to announce the demise of my favourite Harkila Sweater. It was in immaculate condition, after only having been worn daily for 3-4 years. It kept me warm when I was cold, and kept me dry when it was raining. unfortunately the German Shepherds cage was left open on Saturday night, and it was taken in for a cuddle and chew. The injuries proved fatal Yes, it was too big for me...but I loved that jumper like no other... RIP little jumper........gone..........but not forgotton....

Safety, Safety, Safety
mattydski replied to Urban Fox Control London's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I feel for the family. 2 children have no father and a wife has no husband. Instinct is very difficult to overcome, even when you know better. I hope all involved can come to terms with their actions. -
Always sad to loose a companion Ned, whether it be man or dog. Like some have said, I have just read all the posts back to back, and has been one of the best threads for a long time. keep it coming. Happy, safe hunting to you and your dogs! Matty

Rats aren't fussy either, they'll eat fox and anything else.

My wife is a bit of an animal lover, and for some time before I met her, had a direct debit to the RSPCA every month, in her naivety, believing she would help animals in trouble. That was until they refused to re-home ferrets to me 4-5 years ago, even though they had no room, because I drove a landrover and thought they would be used for hunting............Same for dogs. I cancelled the direct debit my self
