  1. Several Reasons Jamie. Not going to go in to all of them. It's just one of those rifles I just want......... I currently have a Sauer 202 classic synthetic, which is a perfectly good rifle. But its not exactly a looker. I have sold a load of junk and have a bit of cash to keep away from the misses. But I bottled the sporter Barrel and bought a Varmint Barrelled Sako 85 stainless laminate today. But thanks for all the info.
  2. There is a big difference between and Inch and a bit and a clover leaf............ I home load now and would be distraught if a new Rifle achieved an Inch and a bit at a 100yards ....
  3. Sorry to be anal.................What are you achieving in group size? MOA, 1/2 MOA?? Cloverleaf? Enlarged Hole? I have an accurate rifle, but I really fancy a stainless laminate tikka or Sako, but accuracy is my concern? Matty
  4. They are ilegal for calling Birds to shoot. Not Foxes. I use a small ghetto blaster and Mp3 player with downloaded calls. £30 quid all in and works a treat. Especially hare and chicken calls. Just ask Sporting Shooter
  5. Has anyone got a Stainless Tikka T3 in Hunter weight Barrel or a Sako Stainless in .243 Hunter weight , who reloads?? I'm interested in accuracy potential, as I am considering a change, and have no experience of Sako or Tikka in Sporter weights only varmint weight! No dreamers, just honest information please!!
  6. I'm nearly there with mine......... I have: 22lr CZ Does the job.....No need to tinker 22H CZ (but about to start customising it) Just to make it special 243 Sauer 202 classic, Workhorse, but changing possibly to something a bit more of a keeper..May be a Sako laminate Stainless or a Custom job. After that?? Well I dont currently stalk reds or Sika, so I am happy with my current line up. If it came that I needed to take on larger animals in open country more frequently, then I may add a 30-06 or 7mm Rem mag to a line up, probably in summit functional like a Tikka Or Remington. S
  7. I use mine for long range vermin, does the job no problem, Head shots only if you want to eat them though!! Its fun it the first degree, especially if you reload. You can go out and afford to shoot a centre fire...How often do you get to fire 20 rounds of centre fire in a day??? Gulit free?? £0.20-£0.25 a shot!!
  8. if its a male, try and borrow an in season Jill to keep in a cage in the garden..... That should keep him local
  9. The cage will be fine until you can finish your run. If you can build one big enough for a couple of ferrets, they do very well kept in pairs. keeps em company out of season, and stimulated ferrets always work better in the season then!
  10. They do usually loose weight during a season. But as has been said already, they will also eat more depending on the external temperature, and also how active they are. I would reduce the amount she has to eat slightly. It sounds like you could cut out the dry food if you are giving her everything else you mention. When i feed mine on fresh, they get the equivalent of one chicken wing a day or a rabbit leg. If they are on dry, they get one small handful of dry per day each, which is left in till they finish it all.
  11. Put pic up of her. You've seen her teeth..........hers the rest of her! the last one just doesnt do her size justice. To be fair to the wife, she exercises her very well, and she is very fit. She will run properly, not like an unfit GSD. She shares the raw diet of the lurcher, so she has quality food. And eats whole raw rabbits as a snack! But, when she is relaxed, I trust her with my kids, without question.
  12. I got mine from the neighbour who breeds for the police, amongst others. She has breeding stock of about 15, they are top dollar. I got mine at mates rates for £600? She doesn't advertise and is always sold out, we only got ours because someone was made redundant and couldn't afford the balance of payment.. And I needed one to sleep with the lurcher as protector and companion during the day. If you come to our house......or the neighbours...(shared drive).....The cacophony of noise from the animals is unbelievable. There is no doubt as to their intent. If you want to go in
  13. Same breeding as MLB's Cracking wee dug.
  14. Would agree with Simon.......I have a well bred GSD, who learnt the trade by herself. She sleeps with the lurcher, and looks after the house and yard whilst we are away..... When we're home, she plays with the kids..no problem. Just feed, love and care.............the rest is natural.
  15. She's maybe let her self go a little bit..................She needs a younger man to keep her on her toes!! They both look fine to me!!
  16. you'll be pleased to know, that after a very long dig, of approximately 6-7ft....... I got the little cow back............................. Lucky it was sand, or I still be there.....
  17. Think this'll be the last time this year.................
  18. Well if you find your self unable to shoot it all before it passes the SELL BY DATE.......... I'll pass you my address, I'll let you share!! See.................thats what friends are for...........
  19. Nope..... I never breed, I choose to take other peoples excess to requirements!! I have never been short on ferrets yet. I have never been let down by other peoples working strain. I take most of what is offered to me!
  20. Dont loose sleep over it, it wont be discussed.
  21. Just picked a Hornet up this year for short range Fox work and long range vermin control......... This was 180'ish yards........and this one wasn't alone...I love my Hornet, and to be honest I tend to leave the .243 in the cabinet for most outings now. I bought it because I reload and the cost to shoot, is very much reduced...I can afford to use it on rabbits, it costs about the same a factory HMR.. and know what I'd rather be shooting..
  22. Why, how many are carrying? If I'm rough shooting, 10-15 in my pocket. Absolute tops If I'm out for a pheasant shoot or pigeons, I may put 50 in a leather cartridge bag. If I need any more, I'll go back to the truck. I have a cartridge belt, that I would wear occasionally...put not very often. Travel light..........just enjoy it!
  23. nice job......... That third picture down reminds me of my own house!!
