  1. Oak sleepers will hold more soil back and look nicer than a block wall mate, set them upright and set them in a concrete footing and put a sleeper along the top so you can use it as a seat ,get into it and soften the edges with a flapper wheel on a grinder and it'll look the bollocks.Done a few raised beds, retaining walls and garden benches with oak sleepers and even done my fire place indoors at home with them, cheap at around £25-30 each and they last for 25+ years..
  2. Lovely sight and loving the Englishman to ,do you have a pair in there and do they do anything breeding wise mate?.
  3. Word's ain't enough mate but thoughts and best wishes with you all Jigsaw...
  4. When i built them i had a black dog i had to keep away from other dogs so sort of had to build a safe zone,if you look your'll see the doors can swing round and either be totaly open all the way through the block,or just the pen with the corridor.or a larger pen inclueding the corridor for the dog as well. The end pen is just a end pen as such, that build cost me less than £30 to make with the wood and screws being left overs from work, the wire a pal gave to me,the blocks and roofing sheets came from a local farmers rubbish pile,so had to pay for the door latches and paint ..Just need a decent d
  5. Just give him some chicken wings or some ribs as well now and then so he gets some bones to help his teeth in keeping strong and healthy, cheap enough from a butchers seeing it's for one terrier.

  9. ,,is that not what they meant?.
  10. If the birds are waiting for the crickets as such then put the crickets in the fridge first for 10, mins and it slows them right down so they don't all just jump or run away..
  11. Dandilions seeds give them black beaks and in the wild there be all over the dandilions like buggery so you lads should be out collecting the unopen seed heads by the carrier bag full..A natural conditioner and a natural trigger food for nesting, get some live food into them finches as well lads and you will see the improvement, copy whats going on in the wild as there ain't any hard seeds out there,it's all buds/greenfoods,soft seeds and insects there eating...
  12. Wasn't worth the wait was it lads?... ...
  13. It's called "Gone in 30 seconds" ...
  14. It's a rain cover for game birds and that's the old water container for when it used to be a release pen..When it was in use there'd be some cover/feed crops around it in the surrounding fields and the birds would be driven back towards the spinny, birds will always fly better going home as such so you drive pheasants back towards the release pen..
  15. Cracking and good luck with the season ahead, paint your wire black and your'll see your birds so much better mate....

    Seagull

I knew a bull x grey that would do it with partridges, she'd sort of bring back a rabbit but partridges she'd gulp down choking herself stupid while doing it and they still be flapping when she did it..
  17. We had our work horses sussed hundreds of years before America was founded, the mule was used in war time by us as a load carrier etc and stayed until motor transport took over..The need for a quick load carrier in the US ment the mule was easier to breed as they are tough old things that could cope with the climate and conditions better than a horse bed for a different terrain, weather etc would..Seen a few pics of mules out hunting with hounds and there used to be a Ginnet living in a field not far from me which is a mule but bred the other way round, horse mother donkey sire, funny looking thin
  18. Most area's as such in Britain had there own type of work horses that suited the land where they lived and worked and the horses are named as such,The Shire,The Suffolk Punch,The Fell Pony,The Welsh Cob and Pony etc etc..

  24. I know a old fella who breeds jay's,he hand rears them all as he shows them and some cracking birds he has to..
  25. Loads of wild birds use horse hair but i never would as iv'e had chicks loose toes with long lengths of seazle (think that's what it's called, white stuff like horse hair) so i used to just use coconut husks, dog hair, moss, and cotton wool as the goldies and redpols love cotton wool..
