    I don't normaly shoot nor have i ever wanted to lets say stand on a peg although many times iv'e had the offer,but that is fun and iv'e been waiting like a kid since the last one...I have another one on another estate i do the terrier work on this coming weekend and that day should see the squirrel numbers hit into the hundreds as no one has been keeping them in check the last 3 years and there's a 1000 acres or more of woodland on the place..Watch this space for a vermin 3 post ..

    Had a vermin day on a shoot i do the terrier work for with a few pals and the keepers son who has also become a good pal over the last few years since iv'e been going there,a different part of the shoot than last year and we didn't think we'd get as many as last year but 52 squirrels,2 munties,1 rabbit and 4 picked pigeons saw the bag at the end of the day.We all took a wood each come roosting time but only a few more were added as the winds put the birds into the lower hedgerows rather than the trees we were all waiting in.

    He was having a poor day getting bites and there were a few folk about watching him struggling so there was a tad of banter towards him,but still a bit strong saying that to a 10,11 year old kid..But we all have our off days eh..

    He was a wanker who nearly got chucked in a town mear very near to where i live when he told a kid to f**k off who asked him for a autograph when he was filming once,he had to be bundled into a car a driven off leaving the film crew to collect his fishing gear for him as the kids old man was a tad upset with him about it..

    On a estate where i do the terrier work there's a stalker who chucks his deer heads into a pit near a big old badger set and your'll see all the heads eaten like that with the badgers eating the soft bits first,seen many a different head like that and it's my dogs that have done it after i fed them to them so hardly good proof a big cats done that to a head...

    Try reasoning with a farmer with a gun when your a hippy traveller and you've just been caught with a terrier to ground or a running dog and running dog caught quarry, been in a few emotional situ's but never got nicked and never got a hiding either.Come to think of it i never got permission from any of them either,but not that iv'e ever wondered why , i lived with folks who were mostly anti's and the land owners were very anti me but iv'e never been one to follow fashion so i just cracked on doing my thing and had some fun doing it to ..

    Same as mate,back in the late 80's a few of us hippies were being run around sussex and kent by the old bill and Rodger let us pull onto one of his fields and he came onto the site and told the old bill to leave us be so always had a bit of respect for him.Shame he's still mates with a nonce and lie with dogs you get fleas so feck The Who any more....

    I'll have to google what pollarding is but i do want to make the crown smaller all over as it were before it gets silly to big and really ruins my garden lawn and i'll be getting someone who knows what there doing to do it for me as it is a sort of special tree,well to me it is anyway..

    I have in my garden a oak that was grown from a acorn from the Winfarthing Oak which was the second biggest oak in the land and the oldest living thing in East Anglia until it died,there's a story little behind it and there was a old couple who lived in my house before us and years ago the chap collected some acorns from the oak and when he got home he stashed them up in a out house.Time went by and the old man died and his old pal was helping his widow clear out the out houses and they found the acorns,his pal knew where he had collected them from and took them home and tried to germinate th
