  8. In my experience ,I get enough bolts with a digging dog so wonder why anyone would actually want a callout dog .The truth behind these dogs is that they are never 100% committed to the job or you couldnt call them out even if you wanted to .Seen a few in the past and the more they were called out ,the more they wanted out .Im fully aware that certain situations require a certain make up of dog ie undiggable spots dont warrant a long term stayer and that the softer type will sometimes shift a fox by giving ground to it ,but a dog that can be called out -Not my idea of what the games about .What
  9. Personally I cant get my head around anyone making any noise at all .My outings with the dog at night are silent .She knows what shes doing and I know what Im doing .A flat palm shows her where to return to and on we go with no disturbance .You would only get the one run out with me .

  12. Nice one mate .Show us some results as and when .
  13. To shed some light on this subject of using and breeding non proven, unknown stock . Some terriers of unknown breeding WILL work and some work very well but when it comes to the breeding of such a dog then you are taking a risk because the parents are unknown ard undesirable traits can show in the next or subsequent litters .Lines of terriers are not produced for nothing ,they contain the genes which produce a HIGH PERCENTAGE of workers and this is the difference .If you do only a minimum of digging and your standard is low ,you may be happy with producing hit or miss offspring but the lads th
  14. Good result but let that be a lesson to every terrier owner on here ,accidental entering is a very real problem and can land you in deep shit in the wrong place .
  15. Just a point to mention -As I understand it legally ,all traps have to be covered wherever place high or low so bare it in mind please .

  18. We see buzzards ,red tails and sparrowhawks on thermals at the same time round us and mollys pic is no buzzard.Sparrow hawks fly with short bursts of flapping followed by long soars .The last pic clinched it for me -typical female sparrowhawk gliding .
  19. .. here's the female they are more common and dont half put the shit's up you when they hit you in the back of the head when out walking the dog's.. .. Millet http://www.bioimages.org.uk/HTML/P5/P53606.php Thats what we see a lot on the chalk downs .Never associated it with the one I found .Thanks again .
  20. Its not the amount of excercise you need to worry about as the pup will slow as she tires .Its the type that blows young lurchers out early.Trying to keep up with an adult running dog ,even in play is not good for the pup nor is chasing most forms of quarry that the pup is not ready for .Play it by ear mate -You know better than anyone how she is after excercise and adjust it accordingly .
