    See mate ,the fact you say my area is steeped in sightings says to me there’s something iffy straight away . Ive been on the hunting ,shooting scene since I could walk mate and I’ve never heard anyone say they’ve seen one .Ive heard rumours of sightings ,attended several so called killings ,been shown tracks and spoor but I’m afraid everything points to either a house cat or a large dog .Ive made it known I am very interested to attend a sighting or damage to a farm animal .     Luckily outside all day every day .Had to smile today when I went to pick up a gate post from a timber yard .Bloke comes to the gate with a mask ,visor and AI plastic gauntlets on lol. AI gauntlets for anyone not knowing are elbow length .He came to the gate and fiddled with the key which he couldn’t seperate from the rest so took his gloves off to do that .Visor came off too as it was steaming up .His mask was soaking wet with sweat and breath . I steeped well back and another clad bloke brought the post to the gate which he hands to me .His glove got caught on a splinter and I ended up

    When things were a bit more relaxed on the trap scene ,trapping stoats was very easy if you caught that first bitch in the spring . Take her to the next few traps and squeeze the urine onto the plate .Almost guaranteed a catch next day and the urine off them went to the next trap and so on . Id be sceptical it was a stoat that sprung your traps wilf ,probably mice .Forget the dead stuff as bait ,just run a few traps 24/7 in tunnels around the base of your set up .If it was a stoat or a weasel ,you will get him because they cannot resist a tunnel .

    We must be way behind here in the West Country as I’ve not seen one more than a foot long .We usually see cubs out and about now but nothing yet .

    Farmer I do a bit of ratting on has just had 17 adult budgies killed by rats ? Hes shot himself in the foot really as he’s got a couple of collies in kennels down the yard and they go mental when I’m about hence I give the place a miss now . Ive recommended trapping but he’s a lazy fecker really and don’t think that will happen . Had the place all nice before the collies but now descended into rat heaven .

    Mate and I went to a place other side of Bristol from me ,to help a lady out who lost 40 lambs last year .This year she lost 2 with Matts help .We lead on top a container and scanned with the pulsar .Three adults accounted for with the 223
