    Changing the subject .Thermal and NV on an airgun for rats is proper devastating .We do a pig farm and last winter we racked up 720 rats in 3 months .Farmer has cancelled the pest controller on the strength of what we’ve achieved .Summer is useless over there as the sheds are too hot for rats it seems . We also do a dairy with excellent results .642 in 2 months .

    Exactly what I’m getting at mate .Dont have to pull the trigger but thermal and NV does allow a fair gauge of population .What the shooter does with this is down to them .Saw 4 foxes on thermal last night but I only pursued the one that went into a shelter pen on the organic chicken farm I do .Shot a barren vixen at 176 paces with the .243 and pard .Watched a badger do the same and saw it emerge with a chicken but hands are tied until the cull starts . I agree NV and thermal are devastating if abused but a bit of restraint and common sense will see populations kept to a manageable level

    Not sure mate .Scopes good when the pard isn’t on it but seems to distort the image in record .All ok apart from that .Got another hawke on the .243 now so will see if same with that .

    These shots were within 100 m mate but I’ve shot way out beyond 200 and one at 315 .I thought the same as you but now it’s second nature .

    You have done the right thing John .Scrapped your old rifle for a tikka .Swear by them myself .Im wanting a 308 in tikka t3 lite but need to sell the Remington before hand .Will change the .22 for a tikka as well in time . Our force does a one for one same day but you must surrender one to a rfd before getting a letter to take to Devices HQ . Never had any trouble waiting for a one for one here in Wilts .Mate in Somerset has waited 3 months for a one for one due to this lockdown shite . Have to have a day out soon mate ,should be a shed coming up ,ill ring you .
