  1. Sounds good. So you can choose which decade you listen to? Have I read that right?
  2. Going by the books they were both bred by NS and given to DF.
  3. Yeah defo's JC. Theres a pic of Hagler in Broadhursts second book.
  4. I think it's JC that was in the mag.
  5. Where abouts are you and how much are you wanting?
  6. Can't beat the waxed paper. Fluff it up every night with a quick shake. Takes 2 mins and stays pretty fresh and dry. Then change it every 10 days or so. A bale costs £9.50 and lasts about 2 /3 months so can't grumble really.
  7. I class a dig as a successful dig when the quarry is accounted for and the dog is working it. The only time you should break through mid tube is when the dog has hold of the quarry mid tube. I have dug to cowardly dogs baying a few feet from their quarry, I don't think that's classed as mid tube though as the quarry wasn't close on break through. What makes you ask the question mate?
  8. It's not about panic. It's more about respect for the dog and knowing what they're going to look like when you get to them. Some lads care about their dogs and don't want them to be in bits when they break through, so digging down to them faster than usual would be more respect for the dog than panic.
  9. Theres still a difference between a mute dog and a hard dog IMO. Some can be mute because they get a good hold and dont let go, so they take minimal stick. Whereas some go in and grab hold wherever they can regardless if the game is able to strike at them at will. And then it's a case of rushing down otherwise the dog won't last very long. I admire a hard dog but you can't beat digging to the sound of baying instead of having to check on the box every 5 minutes.
  10. Looks too flat. The head needs to be on an angle from the shaft.
  11. My dogs are always quiet in the yard also. The gassy loud dogs in yards are usually the ones that never get walked or have much human interaction and end up stir crazy.
  12. Why fix something that isn't broken? I'd rather have a dog for a job than a 'jack of all trades, master of none' type. I'll stick with my black dogs.
  13. Nice dig General. I love them when they go out onto a flat field like that. The b*****ds usually head for trees and under hedges for me lol
  14. I'm pretty sure there's photos of the dog in Sean Frains Patterdale book.
  15. Was the 12 foot dig to one of yours? That's a fair dig in any type of ground.
  16. 'She' hopped a barbed wire fence and made it 200 yds across a field before the run was brought to a conclusion. A lot of 4 legged ones didn't make it as far with the same dog behind them. Lol.
  17. Yeah I agree. Ive seen a few nice terriers from Wales too.
