  1. They must have been poorly made Lee. Ive had mine for 3 years and had a load of digs with it. And i have mates that have had theres even longer. I swear by mine.
  2. Always liked the one of the 4 sisters together DD. Was Jess a similar stamp?
  3. Nice bitch. Hope she carries on for you. Mine are also looking a bit rough around the edges after having a good season. I'm looking forward to the summer now, a bit more chill out time and get the dogs back into tip top condition.
  4. I agree he does look and act like a stoner. But he is one tough cookie.
  5. That'll shut the gobshite up. Lol
  6. Good to see you back on mate. I remember them dogs from the old Patt site. Zulu is the first dog if I remember rightly?
  7. Snows every year at the start of March. Everywhere around us has had it but we're yet to see any. Just a grey, shitty day here in the lovely North East.?
  8. Same here. My lass says all she hears from me is dogs, dogs, dogs! She wouldn't come for a dig if she was paid.?
  9. The dog in the book goes back to the 80s, was black and bred by Ken Gould?
  10. That the same Nigger mentioned in Blucks Ireland book?
  11. I remember that photo Mik. It was 'Shay' in the banana dungarees wasn't it?LOL
  12. I think thanks to current technology (bellmans etc) that the working terrier scene has never been in such a good position. Like has been said a lot of shite will have been spoken in pubs after a morning out and multiplied by every pint that was sunk. Whereas today everyone knows someone who knows someone and word travels fast. Its all single-dog work now and that is whats bred from and whats strived for. The listening to the ground technique must have been a nightmare as sound travels through tubes a lot better than it travels through the ground. We had a dig last week and my mate said 'he's
  13. A lot of lads seldom have dogs that make the grade because of their own inadequacies rather than the terriers. Ive seen some that dont look after or bond with a pup properly and expect it to go the first time out in the field, or some that over match a youngster by working it in difficult earths or working it sore etc etc and some that seem to be waiting for the first excuse to put down the dog as if its something to be proud of. I find it strange that the same lads will always have a good dog about them and some seem to constantly have pups and no dog ever makes the grade. Speaks volumes
  14. I think theres no correlation between early starters and the best workers. Personally the best dogs ive seen werent showing a real interest in entering until 16-18 month. The hardest dog ive ever owned didnt have his first dig until 19 months and after that there was no stopping him. On the flip side Ive seen dogs having to be held back at a young age but when the time come they weren't upto scratch.
  15. Sounds like heaven Wilf. You won the lottery or something mate? As has been said get a couple of artificials in, a high seat up and feed the place up and the stuff will come to you! Good luck with whatever you decide.?
  16. Definitely not an artificial. No one in the right mind would put a dog in there. Maybe some sort of ventilation pipe from years gone by?
  17. These people are beyond reason. Unbelievable the shit they spout! Like has been said, why is it only badgers that they care about?
  18. Nice to hear she passed her working ability on. Are all 4 of the same breeding?
