  1. Strychnine was withdrawn in 2006.
  2. Have you not heard of 'incitement' ?? As someone else has already said, from time to time threads get out of hand and people say things they shouldn't. Best advice I can give if you want to discuss illegal activity (even in curiosity) is to set up your own forum and try it there. You won't last long because the authorities will come down on you like a tonne of bricks in no time at all......
  3. That is spot on. Whether we like it or not, a large part of our sport is now illegal. If we continually have threads on subjects which are now illegal we are doing the antis work for them. We can't have threads of 'how to enter a dog to hares' on here any more than we can have threads on 'how to enter my terrier to badgers' on the terrier section, especially when it's so obvious that the person posting is based in the UK and is asking about their own dog. Engage brains people. There have been several examples of people being arrested and raided after posting on this site and oth
  4. There is the garrison shoot, also, if you go a little east towards Andover there are several large estates. I shot on the keepers day on one of the garrison shoots a couple of seasons ago. Great day out, and I even stopped ducking when the shells came over towards the end of the day! If you go west, Strattons shoot over all the area from Chittern onwards.
  5. Location please You can upload pictures using photobucket. Just do a search on here for 'uploading pictures'.
  6. That's the one Moxy. Standard SX key.
  7. That's good advice. I've removed the phone number. Post your pictures using Photobucket rather than the site uploader. Do a search for 'uploading pictures'. Putting your phone number up is asking for trouble. We also need a price and location ASAP
  8. FFS.... what next?? How do you steal a car?? Listen people, coursing is illegal in Great Britain now. Putting 'pre ban' after asking the question makes no difference. If you must, then do it via PM, not on the open forum! Sorry, but locked up.
  9. It's certainly a strange year. A few weeks ago I was flying. Did 5 one day (which is alot for me) and thought, "yes, here we go"... then it stopped.... Ticking over now; a couple a day and a mixture of mature and immature nests. Seen a few queens, and also had workers feeding on sweet stuff, but also did one nest yesterday that wasn't that advanced... very odd. I was hoping for a late but long season, but it's not looking good. On the bright side, the bit of rain we've had seems to have got the moles moving again. 10 garden jobs so far this week.....
  10. I've employed a couple of lads off this site in the past. I'd always rather have someone with some experience of fieldcraft than someone completely green.
  11. There are no 'single dose' rodenticides available in the UK for outdoor use. Modern second generation rodenticides like Bromadialone and Difenacoum offer little or no risk of contamination of water, especially if they are placed as far down the burrow as possible. Smoking them out for dogs would be a good way of getting an initial knockdown, but I'm not sure if I'd want to do it while the lakes were open. There are some strange anglers out there who think that killing animals is cruel and wrong but are perfectly happy to catch and release fish. I did a similar job a few years ag
  12. Sadly, the issue with second generation rodenticides is secondary poisoning, it's non targets like Wood mice eating bait left in boxes for long periods of time and passing it further up the food chain via raptors. Bait boxes are not the whole answer in situations like this; find the burrows, bait them and keep baiting them until bait take stops. They should also make sure they have adequate litter bins, as it's probably food from waste bait and general overnight litter that is attracting the rats in the begining. I wouldn't bother with traps in this kind of situation unless it's
  13. Having never had a true coney catcher, I'm loving this thread... As Phil says, it reminds me of the old days on here and makes me yearn to own a scruffy pot filler.... Keep the pictures coming fellas, this could turn into a THL epic..
  14. If you are going to try insulting me via PM please at least *try* to spell your insults correctly..... LMAO...

  15. Play nicely please Thread tidied up a little and unlocked.
  16. You'll find that each one has a unique 'paint code' and it belongs to a brewery. You're much better off taking it to your nearest small brewery and asking for a beer based reward....
  17. If he was bolting to a dog then he would be in breech of the hunting act unless he can prove he has permission. Other than that, with permission it's fine.
  18. Chucking it down here at long last. We needed some rain....

  19. Glad to see so many of you read the rules when you joined up.... For reference, it's in my signature, just down there \/ As someone pointed out earlier, this site isn't a democracy, it's owned by one person, who decides what he does and doesn't want on here.
  20. Not quite correct fellah.... Warned you for using text talk, and gave you one warning point. You ignored the warning and continued to use text talk, so I warned you again, and having 2 warning points you got a suspension. I like to think I'm fair; break the rules and there is a good chance you'll get a warning. Break the rules again, and there is a very good chance you'll get warning points. For the record, I haven't actually 'banned' anyone yet... happy to break my duck anytime you like though chaps
  21. Pestech is every November and is run by the NPTA. Pestex is every other year in the spring and run by the BPCA.
  22. John, I'm embarrassed... I now remember us having a conversation about this... the detail of the STAO has been reduced but the overall conditions have been tightened.... I don't think I'd want to be the one in the dock defending the first prosecution.... Something was niggling away in the back of my mind about this scenario, and I think I discussed it with the bods at EN at the time of the change. And, yes, the modified pro-victors are more than capable of dealing with squirrels, but they are NOT legal for that purpose.
  23. Interesting.... The original approval from the STAO '95 said: Whereas the STAO '12 says: So yes, it looks like you are right Nod. Thanks for the update.
  24. Don't forget the tunnel if you are using Kanias; a gun is always handy on the trap round, I always use my Stealth .410..... A few fenns and magnums will clear the problem up; if it's a paying job I'd leave the catapult at home...
