  1. Well; it IS a lot about Salukis... but..... ?????? I'm sure the vast majority of members can type "Saluki" into Google and get this info. Cheers.
  2. None of them. As a few have said, the soles wear VERY quickly and become downright dangerous ! They ARE light, warm and comfortable, but don't last and are expensive for what they are. The same things can be bought from the likes of Yorkshire Trading for almost half the price. Cheers.
  3. Depends entirely on the seriousnes of the break. Some dogs come back as good as new, others, Like Max's, appear ok until tried, others never show any signs of hope. Best to ask the vets opinion, and if they say try the dog, well... give it a go !! But your heart will allways be in your mouth every time you run the dog !! Best of luck, mate, hope it turns out well !! Cheers.
  4. I'm actualy in two minds about it ! I'd rather people got "working" breeds, even if just for pets; than get King Charles Spaniels, English Bulldogs, etc and perpetuate the breeding of deformed dogs. On the other hand, when a breed becomes the "flavour of the month", the prices go sky high and unscrupulous breeders breed from inferior stock. So it's a two edged sword ! All in all though; I think I'd rather see a "pet" owner walking a GSP in the fields, than a KCS !! Cheers.
  5. On my daily walks, I've noticed more and more "Sporting" or "Working" type dogs out and about with "pet" owners. Recently talked with people who have GSP's, Wiemaranners, Beddy's, Patterdales, Beagles, and even Lurchers and Greyhounds. They all say they aren't interested in the working side of the dogs, but just enjoy getting out in the fields and lanes with them. Is this a good or bad thing for the "working" breeds ? It means the breeds are still being bred, but will they become the next "must have" breeds, like Westies and Labradoodles recently were ? Will they be ruined by being bred for
  6. I know those gardens, and I know a lad who keeps around a dozen Greyhounds there. he's never had a problem. I doubt very much it was local just upset with barking, etc. People hold grudges, and family vendettas aren't uncommon around there. This sounds like it was personal. Cheers.
  7. Oh well ok i stand corrected.................who the fucks George Camsell ......i simply meant in terms of popular thinking mate not actual stats....but if thats what it says Are you up here for the match on Sunday ? I could tell you all about George over a pint !! LOL !! Cheers.
  8. Can't remember Bobby Charlton ever saying that ? I thought it was Greavsies catch phrase ??? Cheers. Charlton scored the most goals yes..................now look at the ratio goals/games Charlton dont even come close Actualy, that honour goes to George Camsell; 18 goals in 9 games ! Cheers.
  9. Can't remember Bobby Charlton ever saying that ? I thought it was Greavsies catch phrase ??? Cheers.
  10. Am I the only one who see's a laugh in the title of this post ; Homosexuals, by ....... The One !!!! Cheers.
  11. I've had both these types and they didn't last as long a a £10 pair of B & Q wellies !! I've tried them from £10 to £100 and none last more than about 6 months. They usualy split across the toe, but the Muckboots were lethal; the soles went smooth very quickly and were downright dangerous ! I like wellies, but maybe it's best investing in a decent pair of boots. Used Army gortex boots, grade one, are available for around £30 to £40 online. Cheers.
  12. Didn't he take some teacher or social worker or PV hostage aswell ? As has been said, he only went in for a shortish stretch but was so bonkers he spent most of his life petered up !! Not the brightest criminal around. Cheers.
  13. And they said Clive Sinclairs C5 would take over from the car !! LMFAO !! Not every new innovation is a world beater !! Cheers.
  14. A state of the art ATV would run circles around that heap of crap !! Faster, more stable, better turning, etc ! Any raghead with a ww2 rpg would destroy that over engineered heap !! What exactly is it's purpose apart from showing what some geeks can come up with when handed unlimited funding ?? Cheers.
  15. I remember when "man for man" marking came about, but it was usualy putting one defender to continualy mark one exceptionaly dangerous forward. That never realy worked out, as defenders were expected more and more to get around like fit professionals, rather than donkeys ! Now they talk about "zonal defending" ; as has already been said, it didn't work for Man City tonight ! Whatever happened to full backs and central defenders just doing their jobs and being fit enough to cover for each other ! Cheers.
  16. Get out there and tell him yourself, instead of giving it large on here !! LOL !! Cheers.
  17. Have you had a bad experience with Hancock dogs mate, or Collie crosses in general ? I've only ever owned one Collie X, (not Hancocks), but I've seen some very good ones, (Collie X's, that is), and quite a few people speak highly of Hancocks dogs, if not the man himself. It would be interesting to hear your views and experience of them. Cheers.
  18. Realy ?? I thought my "profile pic" was Claud Jerimyah Greengrass ! A hero of mine ! Cheers.
  19. I've told you earlier on this thread, I've got a couple of wee stud dogs you can use for free ! They would probably add as much, or more to a Lurcher line as would a sled dog !! LOL !! Chjeers.
  20. FFS Joe ! I thought you were a Minshaw man ?? Or even a Bull X man !! Never thought you'd be into those sled dogs !! Cheers.
  21. I've said in the past; that when a pup takes it's first rabbit, hare, fox, deer, or whatever; it doesn't matter if it's your first dog and you are 15, or it's you're 100th dog and you are 60; when a new dog does it's job; you are over the moon, no matter how old or hard bitten you are; it still gives you "that" buzz !! Keep us informed, BL ! Cheers.
  22. I'm sorry, but I can just see Minshaws Mans mind, reading this, going round and round and thinking "what the f**k are they on about " !! Sorry mate, but it's just a laugh, a bit craic ! Cheers.
  23. There was a thread on an Australian site i go on, about the biggest fox, and I think they are around the same size as we have here. Difference is, they are almost plague proportion out there, and the governments of some states are PAYING for foxes to be culled' $10 a scalp ! Contrast that with this country; where you may end up in jail for killing a fox....... and Australia, where you get paid for it .........
