This dog fox was a fair wheight; didn't wheigh him, but I estimate 20 + lbs. Mods; this fox was taken within the law at the time, so please take that into consideration when thinking of deleting the pic. Cheers.

That just described my two perfectly !! I'm glad they aren't the size of my old Doberman, the way they growl and bark at the postie or people walking by !! I reckon ALL breeds of dog have some vestigal memories of the wild, and hunting.... they have just been spoiled by the show breeders ! I'll never forget a roe popping up in front of Delta and Lima and Kilo, (the Chi), and the little bugger was of in pursuit with the others !! LOL!! Funny as feck !! Cheers.

Best dog i've ever owned was a daughter of Jack, and granddaughter of Moscow, with Moscow being the dams sire.... Ask TOMO what hethought of this bitch... Then ask him why he considered using Jack... Also i've got the sister to Venus and she'll run day and night all day and night on any edible quarry You'll get no argue out of me, young'en ! I talked to Joe about lining one of my bitches with Moscow a long time back; it didn't come off . I saw Jack in your Da's kennel a few years ago, and met you and your brother, and knew you would be "Dog Lads"... I'm glad I was right !! Cheers.

I'm sure Bill will elaborate, but I'm sure that Deerhounds and Saluki's were never ran against each other in organised coursing ! Deerhounds were ran at Saluki meetings and vice versa, but I don't think they ran against each other. If they did, I'd love to hear the results ?? Cheers.

I'm an old man now and unfourtunately never got to see the old dogs run, but did see them in the flesh, "Jack" and "Moscow" Litter brothers, and I don't know the craic with "Minshaws", but I'm sure no one will disagree that these two ARE Minshaws ! Both excellant looking dogs who did thier job ! I understand their prodgeny are doing just as well ! So, if the name fit's; use it !! Andy, you'll have to put a pic of Jack up as I can't find one !! totally disagree,had a very good dog 4 years old ,never even looked at sheep.NEVER, and as good dog men do,every now and again ,a stern voice as i passed through the wooly backs.in 30 years,never had an adult dog go for sheep .the proper schooling had been done.well this dog had a very bad accident and had stoped breathing for over a minute.his spine was badly bruised from head to tip of his tail. paralised for 3 weeks .now 7 months of rehab and the dog was brought back gently.,never a sign of a problem .out working a moor and he was stood there marking,bang out comes a wooly,he went straight

i dont agree with that charty,tell me what you think ghound blood would add to these dogs. shit feet and no blow is all i can see a ghound adding. Speed mate, simply speed; to a heavily Collie saturated line ! Simple as that ! Cheers. dont you think joes dog could add that to a collie saturated line. I've never seen any of Joe's dogs in the field to make that assumption. Tiny, I don't know you, I think !! LOL !! But of the dogs you have mentioned, Swift/Reggie/Soxs/Mollie/Maurice/Eddie, which ones have you seen doing their job ? I was a big fan of Jack and Moscow, even though they where retired when I saw them, but they impressed me ! Genuine question mate !

I'm sorry to say, but if a dog has went for sheep once, there is a big problem, but if a dog does it twice, then it has to be the owners fault ! I'm also sorry to say that if a dog has done it twice, over a fair space of time, as you say; then I doubt you will cure it ! The answer to your problem can only be answered by you ! Persevere with the dog; give it to a pet home or PTS.... that can only be your choice; but a serial sheep worrier will only end up in tears !! I wish you the best of luck, mate ! Cheers.

A good question mate ! And as a fan of both breeds, if I had to make a choice of only one of them in an "allrounder" type of Lurcher, I'd have to go for the Deerhound. But of course this is only a hypothetical question, and there is room for both breeds in Lurcher breeding ! Cheers.
