  1. You'll find that competitions are VERY hard to organise and run !! Everyone will want to enter....... until they need to pay and actualy commit to running ! Then you will have to put up with the people who have no intention of entering, but want nto slag the competition off !! Then the arguments between the people who have actualy entered, and trying to get it ran before the summer comes..... Best to just have a few days or nights out between a couple of mates ! Cheers.
  2. That would be "down" the dales to me , mate ! LOL ! Tomos a good guy, does his bit ! Cheers.
  3. So you agree then, thanks..I knew you would see I was right Ha Ha !! I like you, mate, so I find it harder to argue against you, than some others on here !! Cheers. you can feck off, i'm trying to get into him  Don't offer to feed him, he can put a burger away !! LOL !! Cheers.

  5. Of course dogs are more comfortable with a bit heat... I'd be far mor comfortable wandering round Australia at the moment, instead of frozen stubble here in the UK ! LOL ! I'm not talking about keeping dogs in bad conditions, as you know ! I just think that, again, a well insulated, dry, draught proof kennel with decent bedding, is all a working dog needs !! Cheers.
  6. Well, Tommo, that pre-supposes that my dogs "curl up" in there kennel. I'm sure that's not what you meant. A few well known people have had there dogs in my kennel, with asolutely no complaints. I have oil-filled radiators in each of my kennels, and they are programmed to cut-in at just above zero degrees; this is to keep the water from freezing. As I said, I have nothing against heat lamps, but, in my opinion, well insulated, dry, draught free kennels are all a working dog needs. Cheers. So you have heat in there? Exactly my point.. Heat is heat regardless of its source ....

  8. If people want to brag about "poaching", then they should do it on their facebook or twitter account, then when the shit hits the fan, only they will get their collars felt ! When ilegal stuff is posted on here, the site and it's owner, (and possibly the Mods), are also libel !!! We all, ( well most), have crossed the line at some time, but posting it on an open forum is just inviting trouble !! Cheers.
  9. Yep; evidently it was an open secret in the 60's and 70's, that old Stepto realy was a "dirty old man" !! Liked the little boys, evidently . cHEERS.
  10. With the effort we put into our dogs training feeding fitness .... We strive for our dogs to be at the top of there game ... So although ok might work for some people ... That extra bit off effort goes a long way. Each to there own really. My dogs just seem to recover that bit quicker with that extra bit of comfort and seem to hold there condition abit better. Atb "Seem to hold their condition better"; better than what ? Would my dogs be in better condition if I had heat lamps ? I don't think so ! Cheers.
  11. My Deer x drags her bedding out into the run and lies on it, rain sun or snow !! Daft as a brush !! cheers.
  12. Not knocking heat lamps, but I don't think they are neccassary; make sure they are properly fed, dry the dogs off, see to there feet after a day or night out, and give them dry, draught free, well bedded quarters, and the will be OK !!
  13. LOL !! My brother and I were in the "posh" enclosure for the 1st day of the final Waterloo; then on the bank and with the lads for the next two days ! I know which I prefered !! The only accomadation we could get was in the middle of Liverpool, so we missed out on the craic at the night time !! Cheers.
  14. As has been said; if a kennel is dry and draught proof, with decent bedding, there should be no need for additional heating. Cheers.
  15. Whereabouts in Northumberland mate ? It's a big county ! Cheers.
  16. I'm glad he got it. Hope it turns out well for him, he put the homework and the miles in to get it ! He allways liked my bitch, Delta, and she's 23", so his pup should make at least that. I'd like to see it sometime. The pair of you should call round sometime for a craic !! Cheers.
  17. I used to go to The Border & Coquetdale Coursing meets, over 40 years ago. The beaters, flankers and spectators were made up of working class lads from the estates of Newcastle, and Ashington and Bedlington, and from the Borders. The Slip Steward was a postman from Westerhope !! Made a bit of a mockery of the assumption that Coursing was a "Toffs" sport !! Cheers.
  18. Any dog with any type of skin/coat is guaranteed to get rips, tears and cuts if it is worked. My Deer X managed to find a bit of glass on a snow covered stubble field the other day and cut her foot ! Shit happens; it's all part of the game ! By the way, did Jake ever get that pup from Wales ? Cheers.
  19. collie cross - hares ? how do you work that one out? As he don't like salukis Nowt to do with saluki's...... Baw just casts the bait; and waits for the bite !! LOL !! Cheers.
  20. I think you want to be more worried that Mike Ashley is now the 3rd biggest shareholder in Rangers !! Cheers.
  21. Ahh, OK !! In the 'states they breed Whippets a little taller than here in the UK. I think the upper standard for dogs is 22", and 23" isn't uncommon ! Cheers.
  22. What's the Non-Ped in the Sire ? And what's the Sires racing name ? Cheers.
  23. Did anyone notice, that on the day taxes are about to go up, and benefits cut, that DfID is giving £2 BILLION away to Uganda and Columbia, (two of the most corrupt countries in the world !!), to build wind farms and "green cattle production (?) ?????? Money that our government is going to have to borrow, and pay interest on !! Cheers.
  24. Wether Cameron would overturn the ban or not is only conjecture, as he will never be in a posistion to do so;....... that Labour introduced the ban is FACT, and will only tighten it up and add to it if they get back into power. Cheers.
