    I don't understand why people blame Cameron and the Tories for the ban. Now lets make it clear, if there was only two choices on the ballot card, 1,Vote Conservative, or 2, stick pins in your own eyes; I'd have no hesitation in saying pass the pins !! BUT it was the Tories who voted against the Ban, but were out voted by the LibDems and Labour !! I honestly believe that if Cameron had a majority, he would overturn the ban, but I doubt they ever will get a majority, especialy with the rise of U£ip ! Cheers.

    Cameron CAN'T overturn the ban; as it would need a free vote in parliament, and as the Tories don't have a majority and depend on the LibDems backing, he could never get a majority vote, as the LibDems would vote with Labour to defeat the motion, in other words, keep the ban ! Cheers.

    Maybe you should of voted Tory and things 'may' have been different Chartpolski ........ The things I hate about the Tories far out wheigh the things I like about them. I remember the Miners strikes and the de-industrialisation of the North !! So I guess they'll have to do without my vote !! Cheers.

    I've never voted Tory in my life, but they wouldn't of banned Hunting; Cameron rides to hounds, and if it wasn't for the fact they don't have a majority and have to depend on the LimpDems to get legislation voted thru', the Ban would have been repealed by now ! Cheers.

    I've got the book, and I'd say it's more of a "coffee table book"; something to thumb thru' and admire. It's certainly not a reference book, and I doubt it was ever meant to be. I think I paid £35 for mine, money well spent in my opinion, but like anything else; it's only worth what YOU want to pay !! Cheers.

    Well that didn't answer my question, but to answer yours; I'm lucky enought to live in an area where hunting is still tolerated. The tabloids do a good enough job of sensationalising hunting and coursing, exagerating and twisting the facts, without any help from a weekly magazine that is supposed to support us ! I can see your situation in defending CMW, but they did thereselves no favours with that article, and hopefully it will reflect in thier circulation. Cheers.

    Penny; I don't think this post is about what the CMW DOESN'T print....... it's about the article on Poacher Watch, which states that ALL poachers are violent thugs; which they most certainly are not !! Perhaps a bit more thought and proof reading by the editors may have helped ? Cheers.

    I went over two years ago, with a few others off here; Hollyhead-Dublin. I couldn't believe that no one looked in my motor, either going out or coming back !! I had two lurchers with me and no one was interested, just waived our passports out the window and drove straight thru' ! Left the dogs in the motor on the ferry, and they run huge blowers to remove the carbon monoxide, so the dogs are ok. Cheers.

    Some things won't change; Lurcher men, Terrier men and Ferreters will continue to buy this rag, (and probably be the biggest section of Field Sportsmen who buy it !!); Lurcher men, Terrier men and Ferreters will continue to contribute articles to it, wether for payment or some sort of "kudos"; CMW owners and editorial staff will continue to think of, and treat Lurcher men, Terrier men and Ferreters as second class Field Sportsmen, and, in the case of this article, as violent criminals !!!! The pic is obviously from a LEGAL coursing meeting, but hey, I remember an article about the Waterloo Cup, in the CMW, that had a pic of two SALUKI'S wearing red and white coursing collars !!     As I said mate, he only had the odd roe, he was mainly a hare dog, and he did very well on them. He had a decent racing career and won plenty races, including being runner up in the British Open, which had well over 100 dogs running. Cheers.

    Here's a pic of a Whippet, (Blue Prince), that I had in the late 60's, early 70's. 21" and around 35lb. He raced on saturday and sunday, and wednesday evenings in the summer. He also worked most days on hares and even took the odd roe; Cheers.

    Here's a pic of him after he had run a hare in the desert. They went across a pool of crude oil that was covered in a thin layer of sand; the hare skipped across it.. the Saluki didn't !! LOL !! cheers.
