That’s correct but I understood we are buying both A and B variants ? Cheers.

US Marine Corp still uses them but the likes of the F35 can be configured V-STOL, ( very short take of and landing), and VTOL, ( vertical take of and landing), and is a far superior and advanced aircraft than the Harrier. The Harrier just became outdated. Cheers.
-
We are going down the F35 route as they are carrier compatible; the Typhoon and Tempest arn’t. Cheers.

100% there’s greyhound blood in them. I talked to some of the old timers from Cumbria years ago, no saluki though. We mustn’t confuse Fell Hounds with Fell Packs of fox hounds . Fell hounds are lighter boned and racier, and are used for racing; a scent trail is laid in a big circle across the fells and the hounds follow the scent until they see or hear their masters and then race in at full speed. Fell packs are foxhounds that work the Cumbrian fells and hills. Both types will be at the show; I’ll try to get photos of both to show the difference. Another interesting th

I’ll be at the Haydon Hunt Show at Steelrigg a week on Sunday, they have Fell hound racing, I’ll try and get some photos. Cheers.

No idea, I just remember the Luddites being opposed to mechanisation in the Industrial Revolution. Cheers.

He won’t be in the picture at all if next Tuesdays vote on the Welfare Bill goes against him ! Cheers.

That’s what “Skynet “ said, and look what happened there ! LOL ! Cheers.

I agree but who develops and builds the software and hardware, who maintains the routers , the distribution networks etc. ? It will, in my mind , lead to higher skilled jobs in the long run, but yes, lower skilled jobs will go, but education, training and skills will, I hope, lead to a higher skilled, better paid workforce. It’s all academic to me, I’m happily retired and if AI leads to a more comfortable, longer life for me….great ! LOL ! Cheers.

The Luddites were terrified of the steam engine threshing machine replacing the scythe, and the automated loom replacing the hand loom, but the march of progress went on and has never stopped. Cheers.

It’s been going on for years, mate, not necessarily AI, but automation and digital replacing analog, etc. In the late 60’s and early 70’s my missus worked at the DHSS Centre in Newcastle, the computers were, literally , the size of a house and the magnetic tape discs were about 3’ in diameter, there were 1,000’s of employees. Now, all that computing data could be handled on a decent laptop ! 45 years ago I was sent on a three month course on Electronic Controls at South Shields Marine College.Solid state switching was replacing huge “knife” switches . Operators and Engineers ha

Just my opinion ,Mush, but is it not possible that things like AI, Automation, etc WON’T lead, in the long run, to job losses ? I think it will “upskill” jobs , not replace them. By that I mean people will still be needed to do the R & D on this and build and maintain the equipment. A bit like car manufacturing, instead of a human building the car, the human now develops, installs and maintains the robotics that have replaced the semi-skilled assembly worker, meaning that a higher skilled workforce is needed. Just my own thought and opinions. Cheers.

Piece ‘o piss !!!! Something to do with some German blokes cat ,Superconductivity and Boolean Algebra! Marry them all together and you’re halfway to understanding Quantum Computing ! Don’t know what all the fuss is about ? Ill get my pal mC to explain it to you all ! Cheers.

Just watched it ; “ they don’t know what the f**k they are doing “ ! He’s not happy….. Cheers.
-
To paraphrase Mandy Rice-Davies; “ Well, they would say that, wouldn’t they ?” ! LOL ! Cheers.

I liked Colin Powell and Storming Norman’s military doctrine in the Gulf War; ”Overwhelming superiority in land, sea and air power; shock and awe” ! Cheers.
-
Well that didn’t last long ! Iran has launched a missile into Israel and the Israelis are retaliating! For hours the “ceasefire “ lasted ! Cheers.
-
Looks like it’s over ! Trump declares a complete ceasefire in six hours . Cheers.

Jeremy Corbyn today said it was “outrageous and disgraceful “ that Palestine Action are going to be proscribed as a terrorist organisation ! Even though they broke into the biggest military airbase in the Uk and did millions of pounds of damage to military aircraft. We shouldn’t be surprised, he HAS got form for supporting terrorists; Hamas, Hezbollah, the IRA spring to mind ….. Cheers.

A huge clue was when the B2’s were routed through Guam and not Diego Garcia ! If they had come through DG, the UK would , in accord with the Chagos surrender treaty, be legally bound to inform Mauritius of the impending attack on Iran , and Mauritius is an ally of Iran. I think we, the UK, are becoming increasingly irrelevant and are now out of the loop ! Cheers.
-
Looks like it was a purely symbolic attack by Iran to show their people they can fire back. Intermediaries between Iran and the US informed the Americans two hours before of the attack, and Qataris were advised to be prepared, and the number of missiles , evidently 14, the same number as the bunker busters that hit Iran. Cheers.
-
All incoming missiles intercepted according to reports. Cheers.

I had a desk top model of a SR71 but it went missing with one of my shipment boxes when I came home when I retired. Cheers.
-
Yes, I know it was supposed to fly at an altitude that SAM’s weren’t supposed to reach, I think it was above 70,000 feet. But the Russians had missiles that could. Cheers.
-
They thought the U2 could outrun SAM’s but Gary Powers will tell you different ! LOL ! They were spy planes though, not bombers. Cheers.
