“Hammered”mate Cheers.

Where did I say I support driverless trains ? I thought my post inferred the complete opposite.? Still, let’s not let the truth get in your way of wanting an argument. Anyway , I’m off out to hopefully see Newcastle beat Wilfs West Ham Cheers.

I haven’t been on a train since 1978. It’s cheaper to fly to London from Newcastle than to get a train. As for being a Luddite, I yearn for the days when I could buy a dog, ferret, chicken out of the Exchange and Mart and have it put in the guards carriage of a train and I could pick it up from the Station. I love looking back through rose tinted glasses…… Cheers.

That illegal with the AK47 tattoo on his face has been posting his “pop, pop, pop”, tik tok videos from his prison cell. The prison authorities say they cannot find his “phone. Well, solitary confinement, no food or water until he tells where it is is my suggestion. GITMO and Abu Ghuraib seems the only way forward with these people, but can you imagine the left wing screams if it happened ? Cheers.

Yes, passengers did call 999 but the driver probably has a pre planned procedure for emergencies. Someone did pull the emergency cord but the driver didnt immediately stop the train, he went on to be rerouted into a station where emergency services were already waiting. These are just things being reported, we will, I hope get far more information as things unfold. Cheers.
-
Evidently the train driver was alerted by passengers, and radioed ahead to have the train rerouted to the station it stopped at. What would have happened if it had been one of the driverless trains that the unions are so against ? Cheers.

He’s never ambiguous or ambivalent Cheers.

The “Fear Wave Effect “ of this incident has already kicked in. LNER has told Newcastle fans who were going to travel by train to London for the West Ham game , not to travel as the trains are likely to be cancelled, delayed or diverted. This means that 1,000’s more people will be travelling by road, which will lead to more road traffic accidents. An incident like this has far reaching effects. Starmer has to come out and make a major statement, not just saying how he thanks the emergency services and how he feels for the victims. Cheers.

She was 17; the age of consent in that state is 18, so she was under age . Andrew knew her age as he evidently commented she was not much older than his own daughters. If it is proven he had sex with her, then he’s a paedophile. He hasn’t been found guilty of anything, but his own brother appears to find him guilty going by the drastic, ( by royal standards), punishment he’s meted out . Cheers.

I put my post code in and find I live in a very nice area, if the data is to be believed; scores very well on income, education and lack of crime. BUT, I wonder how accurate the data is ? No one round here is going to be mugged for their Rolex, whereas places like Knightsbridge, Chelsea and Other high wealth areas of London are very high on the crime list, but I wouldn’t class those areas as “ deprived”. As Mark Twain said; “ there are lies, damned lies and statistics “ ! Cheers.

To be fair, and I’m certainly no royalist, but Anne refused any titles for her kids, even though, as grandchildren of the queen, they could have been Prince and Princess. They still benefited from being part of the royal family and enjoyed privileges that “ normal commoners” never could. I agree with you, if we are to have a monarchy, it should be drastically slimmed down, such as only those in direct line of accession , such as William and George should be titled and on the public payroll. Just my opinion, and I’m sure it’s far more complicated than that Cheers.

They’ve said he is to be given a house on the Sandringham Estate paid for by the King. He will still be richer, more privileged and pampered than most of us could dream of. Cheers.

Yeah, Diwali, Hanukkah, Eid, Hallowe’en…….. when I was a kid it was just Bonny night you heard fireworks. Isn’t multiculturalism great ? Cheers.
-
Bonfire night is slightly more popular round here. The kids have been round the allotments collecting wood. Can hear fireworks just starting. Cheers.

Few not very good pics of some young Chu Shamo just coming out of the moult; Cheers.

I think the difference might be hanted means a racing bird could be let loose in France and find its way back to the loft, whereas settled or homed bird such as a high flyer, tumbler, etc doesn’t stray far from its loft. Just my take on it. By the way, I’ve heard women, many years ago refer to their husbands being hanted to a certain pub or working mens club, such as , “that buggers hanted to that bloody pub !” Cheers.

Police were quick to say he was an Afghan but DIDN’T come over on a small boat…… Now being reported he came over in the back of a lorry and was given asylum. Cheers.

The chick sitting on the duck was an Irish Hennie game fowl, hatched by the duck; It obviously thought it was a duck and followed the duck into the pond and promptly drowned ! Lesson learned…… Cheers.
-
I could be wrong, but isn’t “imprinted “ in falconry terms , when a chick is hatched in an incubator and hand raised and considers the human it’s “mother” ? Hanted , for pigeons, just means they have been kept and fed in the same loft for so long, they consider it home and return there after a race. Cheers.
-
It’s probably only used by the older generation and pigeon fanciers now Cheers.

I’ve got a few ducks at the allotment, mainly Khaki Campbell; One day this call duck flew in and my old bitch Delta grabbed it and brought it to hand unharmed, so I clipped its wings and kept it; It turned out to be a great “clucker” and has hatched and raised loads of chicks, including hens, game fowl and ducks; Her wings have long since grown back, but she’s hanted now and flies off for a while but comes back at feeding time . Cheers.

As the Chinese saying goes; “every journey begins with a single step” Give them time, there was someone on the news this morning saying Reform is having televised statements almost every day, they shouldn’t overload the public with announcements and lose the publics interest through “overload”. Cheers.

Farage has said he would repeal the Human Rights laws that Blair co-opted into British law from the ECHR, along with the ECHR itself. Cheers.

“Government” ….the clue is in the name ! It’s the job of the government to govern, not be subservient to the Lords, the Civil Service, the Judiciary, (Parliament makes the laws, the judiciary is supposed to apply those laws, not change them),the ECHR, foreign courts and international treaties. Successive governments have derogated their responsibilities to quangos, it sounds like from what Kruger is saying, Reform will take back control, but I fear they will have an almighty battle with the Establishment and the MSM to wrest back control. Can they do it ? I hope so, that’s why I’m wi

Yeah, you could be right Being an old Luddite, I wouldn’t mind going back to those days Cheers.
