It’s like “what if” and “ what about” arguments ,although I admit to using them myself at times. The Labour government has been in for a year now, but they and their supporters answer every question with “ the Tory’s……” ! At what point do they start taking responsibility for THEIR actions ? No one takes responsibility anymore, pass the buck, blame someone else seems to be the order of the day ! Cheers.

I think it’s what’s known as the “straw man argument” , mate; using a worse scenario to rebut lesser scenario. Cheers.
  3. If I was a moderator I’d ban ; mChull ‘cause he’s allways trying to wind me up ! Mushroom because he called me a peacock ! Born Hunter because he’s nearly as clever as me ! Tomo because Astanley told me he’s a wrong ‘un ! Astanley because Tomo told me he’s a wrong ‘un ! And anyone else who had the audacity to disagree with me ! Cheers. Oh, and ‘Arry ‘cause he grows better tomatoes than me !!!!
  4. Just my opinion, but bringing family into arguments , by ANYONE, is an absolute no-no. Cheers.
  5. Make cubes with clear plastic and sellotape for the toms. Ive got one cucumber in a glass bottle and one in a plastic bottle, I’ll try to carefully break the glass bottle and cut the plastic bottle off with the dremil. I use Turbo Clear in my wine during the final racking. Kills all the yeast, stops second fermentation in the bottle and clears the wine . Cheers.
  6. I’ve never had much success with purple sprouting broccoli. Cheers.
  7. Just a suggestion , mate, not a recommendation. Not many genuine working deerhound types around now . Cheers.
  8. Sounds like gone to seed. That one I’ve got isn’t far off going to seed. Cheers.
  9. I know. The Holderness Hunt is at Beverley. Cheers.
  10. Anywhere near Beverley ? Cheers.
  11. Do you know what area of Northumberland that was, mate ? Cheers.
  12. I’ve coursed hares in Yorkshire right from Masham, Thirsk, Selby to Goole, but never seen mC hull, but I’m sure he exists ! LOL ! Cheers.
  13. I’ve hunted the Scottish Borders, my brother had permission around Coldstream , the lowland hills with Northernlight, the west coast, we had lamping permission around Stirling, lamped around Lockerbie area and lamped rabbits and hunted hares on the Cairngorms . So a fairly comprehensive coverage. I know for a fact there are pine martens in Kielder forest, a place I’ve hunted and fished countless times, but I’ve never been lucky enough to see one, even around their breeding boxes. All I’m inferring is that if I haven’t seen something , it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. As I’
  14. I’ve said to GM that I’m sceptical, as I’ve walked the land day and night, been out countless times with hounds and never had a glimpse of a wild cat, but I’ve also hunted some wild places in Scotland and have never seen a Scottish Wild Cat, or a pine marten ! So while I’m sceptical, I keep an open mind. It’s indisputable that big cats were released/escaped, but I doubt there are breeding populations……but I’d love to be proved wrong ! Cheers.
  15. We need to change the name of the site to “The Meandering Life” ! LOL ! From “Big Cats “ to “Big George” ! Not that I’m complaining, I’m one of the worst, ( or best), at going off topic. Cheers.
  16. Have you thought about Platts ? Cheers.
  17. .303 more like it ! LOL ! Cheers.
  18. We used to make pure alcohol and to turn it into “Cointreau “ we would 3/4 fill a sealable jar with the alcohol and hang an orange just above the liquid The alcohol would suck the orange dry until it looked like a walnut , and take up all the flavour. I haven’t got any fruit trees, but I like lemon cucumber in a G & T. They are about the shape and size of a tennis ball, I might give growing one of them in a jar then fill it with gin ! Cheers.
  19. Just seen a video of it , looks keen ! Cheers.
  20. Many years ago, I was on an invite only site, Don will know what I’m talking about, and a lad, who I now consider a pal, asked me how many deer do I kill with my dog. I said I’m happy if I get into double figures. He said that’s not bad for a week. I said that’s for a f****n season ! LOL ! But then again, I’m a very honest man ! LOL ! Cheers.
  21. Change his name to “Terminator “ mate ! LOL ! Cheers.
  22. He will bring his racing lurcher and his coursing bred and run them both on hares. Cheers.
  23. He’s welcome any time up here, I’d like to see how White Fang performs on the Northumberland heather fells . Maybe it would shock me, but I remember a coursing bred called Solo my mate who had Bruce the rescue dog, brought up for a run, it soon went back ! LOL ! Horses for courses, as they say ! Cheers.
  24. Mate , I’ve had pure Salukis and crosses, and most other types. Ive no out and out favourites, but I have a soft spot for Salukis, whippets and deerhound crosses. I don’t care for collie crosses or bull crosses, yes, I know there are good ones, but I just don’t care for them. Mick is very breed blind, of course, as I’ve said many times, the coursing bred is without doubt the best day time hare dog there is, but that doesn’t mean it suits everyone. Ive travelled the world to work and see dogs, and I’m looking forward to my Ireland trip, where the lads have said I’ll see hounds
