I actually saw a pair like that second pic at our local whippet track, and of course I had to talk to the owner. He said they were the fastest dogs he’s ever seen and kill hares for fun. I organised a run up the track for him and honestly, they ran like clockwork tin soldiers ! I could have run faster myself ! LOL ! Cheers.

I could be wrong mate, but even if you “stream” or record terrestrial tv like BBC, ITV, you still need a license. If you only watch the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc you don’t need a license. It’s a minefield, mate. I understand we are the only country in the world that has a television tax, and now we are the only country in the world with an education tax, since Labour put VAT on private schools. It’s only going to get worse at the next budget……but then again, did those who voted for Labour not understand that Labour has ALLWAYS been a tax, spend and borrow party ?
-
I wish ! LOL ! We don’t even get a free telly license until we are 75, and then you need to be on pension credit ! I get f**k all from the government, I’m a man of independent means. Cheers.

Is there Ibizan hound in him , mate ? LOL ! Cheers.

I found out that you can go to the PDSA , even if you don’t qualify for treatment, and you can pay for worm and flea treatment! I did it with both my dogs this year and it’s cheaper than buying the gear off the internet, and supports a good cause ! Cheers.

This is a pure Deerhound bitch, around 26”; Mainly Doxhope/Seaton Valley breeding; Put this non-ped whippet/grey over her and I’d be first in line for a pup ! Cheers.

I think it’s only the first crosses that go 28/29” mate. Second crosses can be a lot smaller. I had an Ashington bred second cross dog, early 70’s , that went 25/26”. When he went over a greyhound, I had a bitch pup that would have been the size of the bitches I keep now. The one on the right in this pic is a bitch I had with only 1/8th deerhound, the rest was beddy , whippet, greyhound and only went 23” the bitch on the left was Ashington bred , mainly deer/ grey with just a dash of collie and only made 24”; . Billy Doherty had small, ( for pure deehound), bitches,

A bit too late for me to get into them. Ill just have to make do with my small portfolio of shares, my property, a bit of precious metals and stones and some good old cash under the mattress and hope the capitalist system doesn’t explode too soon ! LOL ! Cheers.

How do you cash them in ? Do you need a buyer on the open market or is there a bitcoin bank ? What if everyone tried to cash them in at the same time ? Would the bitcoin market crash, just like banks can’t give everyone their deposits at the same time as they don’t physically have the cash at hand. if these cryptocurrency are making such astronomical gains and they were to be cashed in where would the money come from ? Cheers.

I still know extremely little about crypto currency. Didnt bitcoin start as a computer game where super nerds had to solve problems to enable them to “mine” imaginary currency that had no actual physical worth or form ? Then people stared trading this invisible currency and some companies started accepting them as payment. What I REALLY don’t understand is where all this “normal” currency is coming from when a bitcoin that was worth a dollar is now worth millions ? Surely there is a more or less finite amount of money in the world ? I understand “fiscal easing”, banks printin

Around this area especially Ashington/Bedlington , where both Docherty and Sankey live, deerhound types were the main types for many years and took plenty of hare and roe, a lot of it on rough ground . Some famous dogs any old timer from the area may remember such as “Thor” and “ The Widdrington Train. Still a few about , and when I go to the local whippet tracks my dogs get a lot of attention from the old timers. Cheers.

Mate, what I question is the ACCURACY of the 500 yard slips on lamped rabbits and the 12 minute courses. Lads have said to me they have slipped on 500yard rabbits, but when you pace it out it’s about 150 ! Ask anyone to tell you when 12 minutes is up and time it; they will invariably come up very short. Most people tend to overestimate distance and under estimate time. Of course there are very long slips and courses, I just question the accuracy. Cheers.

I’m just joking mate ! Working deerhound blood is hard to find now but there’s still some about if you do your homework. Ive noticed at the few shows I’ve been to this year that the deerhound types are making a comeback….wether they are worked or not is a different matter. Cheers.

Bit of a dilemma here mate; I made the anology of this forum and beer tents at shows. I spend far too much time on here, but avoid beer tents like the plague! On here you can have a laugh at some of the comments, but being cornered in a beer tent by a total bullshitter isn’t fun at all ! I was once cornered in a beer tent by the biggest bullshitter of all, Whin ! Not a pleasant experience! LOL ! Cheers.

Nothing outrageous about 300yard slips or five minute runs mate. Cheers.
-
I find some of the banter good fun, mate. It could do with more hunting and dog posts I agree, hopefully that will happen when the season gets underway. Yeah, it can be a bit like an on-line dog show beer tent at times, with people making outrageously stupid claims, but that’s all part of the fun ! LOL ! Just enjoy it for what it is or ignore it ! Cheers.

No offence, Bangers mate, a genuine question; If you think things are so bad on here, why are you on all the time ? I enjoy your posts about the birds, but why allways moaning about the site ? Its the middle of summer, mate; none of us, well at least most of us, are hunting. Get more posts up about your birds, allotments, past hunting experiences etc. until the new season starts in a couple of months Cheers.

And end up like the Daywalkers ? Err, no thanks ! LOL ! Cheers.

No, I said non- peds race over 150-200 yards. The usual handicaps are 150, but it won’t make any difference, the top non peds are still accelerating, finishing hard , as we call it at 150 so they will be beating your dog by more at 200. Cheers.
-
I’ll let you know when there is an open race on and I’ll ask a lad I know whose two non-peds are the same age as yours, six, and were without doubt the fastest dogs in the country over 150 yards when they were a bit younger if he will give you a run, and I’m sure Max will race you with his lurcher. Cheers.
-
What are you looking forward to ? Are you going to race a racing dog on the track ? Cheers.

There are times when, even though I know it’s impossible, I might agree with him, when I see the futility of arguing with some people who appear to have less brains than a chimp ! LOL ! Cheers.
-
It’s getting tedious, mate. I don’t know if there’s such a thing as “multiple deja vu”, but it seems I’m giving him the same answers to the same questions over and over again but it isn’t sinking in ! Im going to jot all this down and maybe sometime write a book ; “ Myths Of The Coursing World” will be the working title ! LOL ! Cheers.

Lengths over what , by what ? You say your dogs are faster than non-ped whippet/ greyhounds and greyhounds, I say theyre not. I doubt you’ve ever seen a top non- ped, but I’m sure you’ll say you’ve seen loads. Pointless discussion mate. If your dogs were faster, everyone would be using them for racing….. they don’t, they use the fastest dogs for the job. Please don’t go on about seed, winter wheat, slop, etc. Whippets and greyhounds are racing dogs . Cheers.
-
Do you feed your dogs separately mate ? Ive allways trencher fed my dogs , look at the pics off the pups and deerhound and Doberman, just like fox hounds, they are pack animals and trencher fed. Only time I’d feed them separately is if one needed a special diet, which is very rare. Cheers.
