    The only ancestry check I’ve done is on my surname. Not very scientific but it traces back through Ireland to Normandy and the Conquest and then to Scandinavia. Cheets.

    Co-incidentally, Nana Akua is on GBNews right now talking about her heritage, she is, as Boisy would say , as black as Newgates knocker and her family is from Ghana, but she was born in Newcastle and insists she is a Geordie and English. She said she has no cultural attachment to Ghana and no “Ghanaian feelings”. So , is she a Geordie, is she English ? Cheers.

    Lads this is a desperate plea . One of the lads who has invited me to Ireland to hunt is in a desperate situation. His son has disappeared in Paris France, been missing almost two weeks . Rab is a top class man, a hunter, dog man like ourselves, he’s a pal of mine and Gunters. Hes asked me to post on here hoping that someone, somewhere may have the slightest information on his son. A long shot, but ANY information may be helpful, somebody may have been on a weekend break , a holiday, a stag party and may have seen him. Cheers.

    I probably wouldn’t have a mortgage free house, I definitely wouldn’t have seen the world as I have, my children definitely wouldn’t have had a private education, my grandson wouldn’t have the opportunities he has now, and I certainly wouldn’t have the world views I have now.     I had a good job with an engineering company but when marriage and family came along, I took Norman Tebbits advice, ( it was his funeral today), and got on my bike and made the momentous decision to seek my fortune abroad. Twenty six years later I was in the position at 51 to retire and do what I wanted. Of course not everyone can do that, but as a lad from the city centre slums of Newcastle and one of the worst sink council estates, I don’t think it’s our of reach for most people that really want it .     Aubergines finally fruiting , Different varieties, Long Purple and Black Beauties. Both types of cucumbers have been prolific and still fruiting; Celariac growing well; Cheers.

    My local Chinese takeout and my Animal Feed Store have both been forced by their banks to accept cards . If they refused they would be de- banked. Yes , it obviously stops tax evasion, but I still feel a bit apprehensive about it What next ? Only card sales at the local boot sale or lurcher show ? Cheers.

    The dystopian view of this is that all money, wages, savings, benefits, etc you get will be held in a central bank digital currency. Your spending will be controlled , you will have so many credits per week or month for things like carbon footprint, how much you are spending on flights, motoring, electricity, gas, etc. Exceed those credits and you will be punished. You will have so many credits for what the government consider “anti social “ such as alcohol, smoking, gambling, etc. The government will be able to stop payment at the supermarket checkout for you buying too much mea

    Hmm, interesting . Are you saying Kamal Attaturk was left wing ? I haven’t studied him much , but I understand he was a somewhat reluctant “Young Turk “ who espoused nationalism rather than internationalism. He seems to me to have been a leader of an Islamic state that wanted to securalise Turkey and move more towards a western type democracy . So I don’t know if he could be classed as left or right. Middle East/ Islamist politics may transcend both ideologies. Cheets.
