    I entirely agree ! The “Champions League “ should only be for the league winners, but money rules now. Im old enough to remember, and went to all the home games, when Newcastle won the Inter City Fairs Cup” the precursor to the Europa League, and we only finished 10th that year ! Cheers.

    I’m a fan but it doesn’t rule my life mate. A pre season kick about means nothing to me; if it gives you unbridled pleasure , good, but Newcastle will be playing in the worlds greatest league , the Premier, while Celtic will be playing in a backwater league where only they and Rangers would only be able to survive in the EFL Championship or the First Division. Im assuming that Celtic have qualified for The Champions League ? Perhaps Newcastle and Celtic may meet, that game will count, not a pre-season kick about. Enjoy the win mate. Cheers.

    To be honest, I’ve never had huge bags of game mate. A few rabbits, or a hare or two or a roe is good enough for me these days. I had a walk out the other night with the lamp just to see what’s about and was pleased to see plenty of half grown rabbits an a roe with a fawn. Dog didn’t get off the lead, just a pleasant walk on a warm night. Roll on September ! Cheers.

    I was up there with Davey on his permission working the reed beds for rabbits ; his beddy types were doing what they do best; nailing rabbits left, right and centre ! My big , daft deer cross was running around without a clue , taking the odd one that burst out off the reeds onto open ground ! Another time I took a deerhound cross up just to have a look and learn the game, only five month old but good experience; Davey’s a top man, putting up with old men and young dogs ! LOL ! Cheers.

    In all honesty ; Davey is a gentleman. He put up with me up the Cairngorms and still invited me on his lowland permission with my totally unsuitable deerhound types more than once ! Proper dog lad is the highest accolade I can give ! Cheers.

    I don’t want to tempt fate, mate , but my dad and mum were well into their 90’s, my older brother almost eighty , younger brother almost seventy, sister late sixties.. all still fit and doing what they want. I’ll come in and say to my missus, (72), “ I’ve been talking to this old bloke today” and she’ll say he’s years younger than you ! Gunter and my Irish pals will, I’ve no doubt, give an honest opinion of me when I’ve been out to hunt with them and I’ll be 73 ! Cheers.
