Last year the barley seedlings in the fields behind my house were washed away in the rainstorms and had to be re-seeded, so it was late again last year. Cheers.

Depends on the weather mate. Two years ago it was the third week in September when the wheat came down This year it looks to be very early. Also depends on the crop, last year we had loads of oilseed rape, this year not so much, mainly wheat. As for the ground , what’s the difference between “dry hard” and “frozen hard” ? You use your common sense when to run a dog. Cheers.

Wasn’t the 60’s huge for drug culture ? LSD and other hallucinogenics ? It’s nothing new, there was “The Great Binge” of the late 1800’s to just before the First World War; everyone off their heads on opium, even Queen Victoria was hooked on laudanum . Cheers.

One of the very few advantages of age is that you can look back to when things were “different “. I remember when there were very, very few beggars in Newcastle. One was a blind veteran, playing an accordion, dressed in a shabby, but clean suit complete with his medals. The place he stood, outside Fenwicks on Northumberland street is now occupied by drug addicts and Romanian illegal immigrants with their hands out. I was too young to give to the blind veteran, but my parents did, and had a chat with him, I very much doubt they would fund the lifestyles of his modern counter

Good post. My brother in law was an alcoholic, he died of liver failure, leaving a widow and two young children. My sister asked me to go with her to see the registrar for the death certificate. It had the cause of death as “ alcoholic liver failure”. I asked the registrar to leave out “alcoholic “ and just say “liver failure” for the sake of his children, but he refused and said he had to record it exactly as the doctors said. Instead of any fond memories they may have of their dad, he will always be remembered as an alcoholic. Sad…… Cheers.

I had a great uncle “ Sapper” Laurie, who did five years in a Japanese POW camp. He was trying to develop a rocket fuel and blew his council house up . He built a one man electric submarine and a lot of dignitaries were at the launch on The Tyne……it sank without trace ! LOL ! Eccentric inventors push the boundaries! Cheers.

One last attempt……. Musk isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel ! His rocket does exactly as it was meant to do; deliver payloads to the ISS and deploy satellites. Why would he build a rocket capable of going to the moon , it would be massive overkill! He was simply explaining that for HIS rocket to go to the moon it would need eight fuel stops compared to the Saturn V which carried enough fuel for the job . Cheers.

Not on this subject……. You know you f****d up and now started moving the goal posts. You didn’t understand about the amount of fuel the Saturn V carried compared to Musks rocket and when it finally dawned on you, you went into reverse ! LOL ! You mention me and then you were proven wrong, as usual ! LOL ! Cheers.

Yes….. I could explain this to my 10 year old grandson easier. If my car had a 100 gallon tank and your car had a ten gallon tank, which car could go farther, if they had the same fuel consumption ? Saturn V carried far more fuel than Musks rocket is capable of. mC reads this as “ Musk says the moon landings never happened” Which, of course , he DIDN’T say. Cheers.
