  1. I’m no expert mate , but PM me and I’ll be glad to help if I can . Cheers.
  2. “Anywhere, any time !” My new motto ! LOL ! Cheers.
  3. You put it so much more eloquently than I , Gunter ! PMSL ! Cheers.
  4. Never had any trouble with deer x feet wether they’ve been from racing or coursing greys. Never had a bull x so I can’t comment. I’ve found, strangely, that ped whippets had sounder feet than non-ped whippets, probably because the non-peds are so much faster. Cheers.
  5. Honest answer; I’ve run dogs on hard ground in Australia, the Middle East and here. Im not recommending it, the owner decides where and when to run their own dog, but Salukis, as I’m sure you will agree, have been bred for centuries to run on hard ground, as have deerhounds. As I said in another post, you use your common sense when running dogs. Cheers.
  6. Maybe, but I bet it gets frosty in Hull AND Lanark ! LOL ! Some of these day walkers won’t run a dog on hard ground, they need the “slop” ! LOL ! Im no expert mate, just an enthusiast. You get good and bad hares everywhere. Cheers.
  7. I’ve never judged hounds but like to see how the ones I pick out get on. I noticed a lot of the hounds yesterday were carrying a bit more weight than I’d expect. Probably lying around the Kennels due to this heatwave we’ve been having, but they’ll soon get that run off them . There was also one or two what I’d call Irish Beagles as well as the pair of Welsh hounds. I guess they are not so bothered about “ level packs” these days. Cheers.
  8. A couple of Welsh hounds that caught my eye yesterday at the Haydon Hunt Show; Cheers.
  9. Are you lads REALLY arguing about the difference in weather between Hull and Lanark ???? Does anyone REALLY think it will make any difference to the hares ? I live probably halfway between the two and I’ve run hares from Yorkshire to Scotland regularly and can’t see any difference, it’s usually the land that makes the difference, not the hares. Just my opinion, of course. Cheers.
  10. Do none of you lads keep a game book ? Id of thought for keen lads it would be a must . Cheers.
  11. Kielder, Derwent and Fontburn all near me, for the stockies, Tyne is decent and a lad off here has just invited me to the Tweed. I can fish for flat fish and eels in the tidal Tyne or course fish in ponds all within walking distance. Horses are too expensive and time consuming for me, I’ve got plenty of mates with them if I want to borrow one ! LOL ! Cheers.
  12. I have my reputation to protect ! LOL ! Cheers.
  13. No summer hunting for me mate ! Keep the dog in decent nick but nothing serious until September then the hard yards start. I’ve got plenty to do at the allotments, growing , harvesting, replanting, I’ve got a load of gamefowl chicks ready to take away from the broody duck, and another load of eggs ready to hatch shortly. Change all the poultry water at least twice a day and feeding them. Support my local hunt shows , a few days trout fishing, it’s not just dogs for me mate, before I know it I’ll be off to Ireland to see Gunter and the lads, I’m already sorting out my trip, hu
  14. Show time today at my local hunt today mate ! The deer x got Best Lurcher Bitch and Reserve Show Champion ; Beauty as well as brains, speed, endurance and ability . Summer is the time to relax, meet up with pals, have a craic. Stop trying to convince yourself about your dogs, no one really cares ! LOL ! Cheers.
  15. It’s not the aircraft mate, it’s the people that maintain and fly them. If it’s some shit airline, say a prayer before taking off , and another prayer if it lands safely ! LOL ! Cheers.
  16. How do I get to “share” ? Cheers.
  17. I used to be able to copy and paste YouTube vids onto here with my old iPhone but can’t with my new one ? Cheers.
  18. Let’s not have all this mystery,FD, if there’s a video, get it up ! Cheers.
  19. I’m not going to comment on Scout, because what I seen out of him was very limited , just a day or two at my place and was no better than my deer crosses, but I know lads with the same breed who worked them and were very happy at the job they did. Cheers.
  20. The last time I seen Paul was at a local show, and I’m ashamed to say I didn’t recognise him ! My mate Gin said “ that’s Paul “ but he had sadly passed by. I consider him a top class lad, knows his dogs ! Cheers.
  21. No mate Paul lives in Blyth , Northumberland, he was Lamp & Battery on here. I went out with him a couple of times and judged his heat in the lamping competition. A top class lad . I, like you, remember Bill using the coursing dog Scout for his “coursing bulls… “ ; here’s a couple I had at my place; Both belonged to MLB and her daughter…. But that’s another story ! LOL ! Cheers.
  22. I lamped and hunted with Paul who owned Fettle as a pup . He used to be on here. Cheers.
  23. Yeah but the beddy is so fat back. It must be a strong gene for the woolly coat to keep popping up. It’s like the non- ped whippets, they often still throw a “bully “ type, I know I’ve had two ! LOL ! Cheers.
