It's called the Hunting Life "meander". Some threads go off at a tangent, some drift off course, others are hijacked by breed blind people with no interest in anything other than what they see through their rose tinted glasses ! ??? ! No offence mC, mate ? Cheers.

Jeff Burrell - disgusting (allegedly)
chartpolski replied to northamptonman's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Burrell , Plummer, Hancock, Slieght, Platt, et al, saw a niche and catered for it. Can't blame them for that ! But the vast majority of lurcher lads didn't deal with them, they didn't need "names", they knew what they wanted and needed, and brought in, or bred, accordingly. Like most lurcher lads of a certain age, I read Plummers books, and enjoyed them, but they didn't affect the route I took. We're all out to make a pound or two, and as long as they take care of their stock, don't rip us off, and, in Plummers case, entertain us, then who cares ? If their yards are shite, -
In the 70's there was a huge exodus of British doctors and nurses to the Middle East, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Why ? Well obviously better pay but also better conditions, better prospects, better life style. They were replaced by doctors and nurses from India, Pakistan, Philipines, etc., which lead to less and less nurses and doctors from here being trained. Then some bright spark decided nurses needed a degree ! How many perfectly capable people were put off being nurses at the thought of having to study for a degree ? I, personally, have a lot to thank for

I don't know if you were on here when a very interesting bloke called " Mackem" was posting. He spent a bit of time wandering around Central Asia, the Khyber Pass, etc. Had some good tales. Ive worked with a few Pashtuns, Bukharis, bought a bit of Russian kit off Dhagastanis and Chechnyans, but there's to many experts on Middle East and Central Asian politics on here for me to cross verbal swords with ? If I think of anything interesting to contribute, I'll let you know ? Cheers.

What's the opinions on the guy that wants to bring 65 Afghani's and 200 cats and dogs to the UK from Afghanistan ? Its contentious and there'll be differing opinions. The guy did his 22 in the Royals, so I admire him for that, but I think he's wrong with this. Yes, he's chartered an aircraft, but it ain't as easy as that with military aircraft stacked waiting for landing and take off slots at Kabul Airport. Also, why the 65 Afghans, who will need re-homing and benefits if they get here, what about his ex comrades living on the streets in the UK ? As for the 200 cats an

Jeff Burrell - disgusting (allegedly)
chartpolski replied to northamptonman's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
His family have kept the same line of lurchers for 800 years, well apart from adding Picardy and countless other weird breeds. He bred in a special "shoulder angle " that makes them "tumblers" Funny thing is, people believe this nonsense and buy pups from him ! ? ! Cheers. -
Bull cross running down your back and a fox's brush coming out the crack of your arse. A great ice-breaker at parties ! ?? Cheers.

Reports of at least ten US servicemen killed in the explosions at Kabul Airport. The Taliban have condemned "this evil act" !!! Give me a break....it would be funny if it weren't so serious. Cheers.

Fastest finger first Gnash ?? Cheers.

Between the first and second tine of the animals left antler. Cheers.

If anyone asks, tell them "what, you really don't know ? It's obviously an animal interpretation of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, isn't it obvious ? ", and wait for them to say "oh yes, I see it now ". ?? Cheers.
-
I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but as soon as I heard "ISIS-K" being mentioned a few days ago, I wondered if they were the new bogey man to take the heat off the Taliban when the west start negotiating with them. Cheers.
-
Who was it, and could the Taliban have prevented it ? Cheers.
-
I like the stags head, but what's the significance of the geometric patterns ? Is it a vitruvian man thing ? Cheers.
-
The yanks should have told the Taliban " remember Shock & Awe in Iraq ? Well, if you interfere in the evacuation, that's what you can look forward to ! ". But with sleepy Joe and giggly Kamala in charge, that was never going to happen....... Cheers.

Think you’ve seen it all ? Take a look at this .

I saw that woman being interviewed, she had a rainbow lanyard round her neck, and a gay pride flag in her office. You could probably get three or four beat coppers for what she is paid......... Cheers. -
There's a lot of bridleways and old waggon ways around here and the council keep them accessible, also some ancient hedgerows that they take care of, but they have stopped coppising , if that's the right term, the woods. Cheers.
-
I've noticed an abundance of hedgerow fruit this year, possibly down to the strange weather we've been having, couple of days red hot sunshine followed by couple of days torrential rain ! The council planted rows of red, yellow and black plum trees all around here, and they've been laden with fruit. Great crop of sloes almost ready, blackberries, raspberries, elderberries, so I'll be making loads of wine, sloe gin, plum vodka this year. Allready got apple, pear and grape bubbling away nicely; Cheers.
