  1. One of the great, eccentric British inventors. Cheers.
  2. I would wash them off the road with water canon with about as much respect as I would give washing dog excreta from my drive with a pressure washer........ Cheers.
  3. Exactly right mate ! I was there from '78 to 'O4. It was Aramco compound in Dammam where they gave the booklet "Blue Flame" to employees who wanted to make "sidiqui", 100 proof alcohol. They gave them the instruction book because a still blew up and burnt down a house, so instead of trying to ban it, they thought it would be safer to instruct them how to do it ! ? ! We had a "tame" shopkeeper and used to get 100 kg of sugar at a go. Sid & 7 UP was the usual drink, though I preferred Sid & Orange Tang, " The drink that went to the moon" ? Halcyon days !
  4. That's mighty fancy ? We used much simpler gear to make illicit moonshine in the Middle East; A pressure cooker with a coiled copper pipe run in front of an A/C, and into a five gallon jerry can, stood on a black heater plate. Run the mash at least three times and it was as pure as you could get Cheers.
  5. Here you go, KD; couldn't get much simpler, two jerry cans and a length of decking; Looks quite effective, in its setting ? Cheers.
  6. I've been thinking about this, and think I've come up with a solution. Instead of these lunatics punishing innocent people going about their lawful business, how about they find the home addresses of the government ministers they want to influence, and chain themselves to THEIR front and back doors, and gates ? How about super gluing themselves to the bonnet of the ministerial Range Rovers that pick them up in the morning ? It would mean instead of people being pissed off stuck on the M25 and hating the protesters, they may actually find they get some public support ? Imagine th
  7. I'm all for protest, but we should look at WHAT the protest is about, and HOW the protest is being carried out, and WHO the protest affects. The M25 protests are about people insulating their homes ! Now, I'm willing to bet the vast majority of the people being denied their right to travel HAVE insulated homes ! All new builds are well insulated and I'd guess most homes built in the last 40 years have cavity wall and loft insulation, I know mine has. There are government schemes to help pay to have older, less efficient homes insulated, I'm allways getting emails or people knock
  8. Of course I support the right to protest, but protest the people who you think are doing you harm ! Protest outside parliament or the MP's homes, stop THEM from going about their business, not ordinary people, who, quite likely, have the same complaints as you ! The people blocking the M25 are turning people against them, people who otherwise may have some sympathy with their cause. SHH, as for "peaceful protest", tell that to the people in the multi vehicle pile up, especially the woman who was simply going about her lawful business, and ends up being airlifted to hospital wit
  9. Nothing special, but I like the fact this meal cost me nothing. Mashed carrot and swede and pickled onions from my allotment, and trout I swapped for rabbits with my brother. Cheers.
  10. No, but I'd probably join them if they were blocking the beaches to stop the boats landing, but blocking the M25 has caused problems for literally hundreds of thousands of normal people going about their LAWFULL business. How many of those thousands missed doctor or hospital appointments, missed flights, never mind not getting to work ? Sorry Wilf but it's a very far stretch to link what these fuckers are doing, with illegal immigration. Cheers.
  11. There's been a major traffic pile up on the M25 caused by the protesters blocking the motorway ! These are the same protesters, not just the same lunatic group, but the very same people who were arrested a couple of days ago for doing the same thing ! Why are they allowed by the government and police to do this ? When the DO get arrested, why do the courts treat them so leniently? As someone said on the news yesterday " if this was Tommy Robinson and his mates, heads would have been cracked and jail sentences handed down ! ". Remember the Countryside March outside of p
  12. Go on, put a pic up and see how many pages it gets ! ? ! Cheers.
  13. Anyone old enough to remember the enamel mug ? Terrible ! Would burn your lips off ! ? ! Cheers.
  14. Had £20 ones from Aldi and £80 Muckboots and the thing they had in common was they didn't last long. Split across the toe and neoprene snagged on everything. also the Muckboots soles went slick very quickly and became dangerous. Cheers.
  15. Wasn't the Hiroshima Surplus Store, was it ? ?? Cheers.
  16. When I want a coffee I just shout "stick the kettle on while you're in there, pet" ! Nothing fancy ️ Cheers.
  17. Got an old captains chair in the man cave; Very comfortable ? Cheers.
  18. I agree. Ive got two big Allotments, a small holding really, and grow a lot of veg, don't know about organic, but I don't use any chemicals, I make my own compost and use well rotted horse manure. Ive a few hens and ducks, more than enough to keep us in fresh eggs. They are not free range but have large pens and are fed on mixed corn and veg. Theres loads of wild plums, apples, berries round here, which I eat or use to make wine. I usually have a freezer full of game, and I get fresh trout, cod, mackerel, etc from my brother. I still have to get some things from the sh
  19. Spirit Of St.Louis Boom Box WWW.ANTIQUES-ATLAS.COM Antique Vintage Technology, Spirit Of St.Louis Boom Box. Late 20th century retro at its best, Inspired by Charles Lindberg's none stop single handed crossing of... Cheers.
  20. No, my missus bought it for my 40th birthday, almost 30 years ago , at "Toys For Big Boys" ( ? ) in Dubai. ? Cheers.
  21. Yeah, I agree, it's personal preference. I would just give it a light clean and have it in my man cave with my "Spirit Of Saint Louis" radio sitting on top; Cheers.
  22. My missus has taken that as a great compliment ! ? ! Cheers.
  23. Strangely enough, I haven't ! Never used sugar, don't eat biscuits etc, still got all my teeth, bar one that got knocked out ! But since we retired, my missus has took to home cooking and baking, and I just can't resist a slice of cheesecake ?? Cheers.
  24. You're not going to remove the names and colour, are you ? To me, that's the history and interest, I'd just give it a light clean and polish ? Cheers.
