I’ve judged a lot of shows and yes, the “working lurcher” class is a strange one. I once asked a woman what work her dog had done and she said “ it chases squirrels in the park” ! Cheers.

100% correct ! Why would I slip on something that I can run anytime a few hundred yards from my house, when I have the chance to slip on something I went halfway round the world to experience ? These were lads who’s main quarry is fox, but we’re good enough to indulge me on running something I might never get the chance to do again. Cheers.

We had eight confirmed and two backfilled in a couple of hours one morning; Cheers.

I think it would be impossible to eat anything these days that hasn’t got preservatives or additives in it. I like to eat wild game, but who knows if the crops or grass they have eaten hasn’t been treated ? I feed my poultry with wheat straight from the farm, but I’m sure the fields will have been treated with chemicals. The birds drink rain water collected in butts, not tap water, but who knows how pure rain water is ? I use my own compost on my vegetables, made from chicken, horse and cow manure, but what have the cows been fed on ? I just try to eat healthy and not worry

Not exactly a billabong, but the foxes hung around the small reservoirs dotted around the place and there were some setts around the banking. Only place I’ve seen black swans in the wild. Cheers.

We were beating a small conifer plantation in the middle of a huge area of arable hoping to flush a few ‘roos to run with the lurchers, but Sod’s law, there were hares shooting out in all directions but not a single ‘roo ! After I came home, I was talking to my Oz pal and he said he shot 25 hares at a farmer’s request, the lads I met had no interest in running hares, they were far more interested in fox and pig. I was quite amazed at this as the huge areas of land and numbers of hares would be a paradise for coursing. Cheers.

I’m sure you can get an Irish Republic PPS number even if you were born in Northern Ireland, just by proving your identity with a passport or birth certificate. I could be wrong as the rules are a bit convoluted regarding Irish/ GB rights. Cheers.

Failed to get granted asylum TWICE, accepted the third time! Michelle Dewberry on GB News says he should be hung. Whoever in the Home office signed off his third asylum application should be charged as an accessory! Cheers.

Abdul Shakoor Ezadi……..good old Geordie name ! Rumoured to be an Afghani refugee. Cheers.

I thought LPD may have been alluding to the Anglo Saxon word “moot” , meaning meaning place, as in the old Moot Hall in Newcastle, formally an assizes and Crown Court, a place I have not so fond memories of from my fairly frequent appearances as a foolish youth ! Cheers.

I don’t think it’s possible for a normal bloke to “prep” for a nuclear Armageddon, but we sure can do some sensible preparations for the power outages that might be coming if the eco lunatics get their way with net zero. Torches, batteries, even a small generator to power a small electric heater and tv to keep up with the news, battery radio. One of those small camping stoves and plenty of gaz canisters, and tinned food. Plenty cartridges for the 4:10 to deter the scallywags from raiding my allotment for the eggs and veggies ! LOL ! Cheers.

I’m a great believer in getting advice from people that know what they are talking about. I’m learning all the time about growing stuff and getting the most produce for the least cost. The horse lads drop off a load of horse manure now and again, one of the lads is a tree surgeon and drops off bark mulch, we help each other out with fertile eggs and use each other’s broody hens to replace our hens, and there’s a good barter system going on. Maybe something for the “preppers” to think about ? Cheers.
-
Yeah, they would only be sealed from the farm to the allotment, about two miles, then spread on the raised beds I made a load of nettle soup liquid compost and that ferments and gases aswell. Cheers.
-
Farmer who I get my poultry food from told me I can have as much cow slurry as I want for my allotments for free. It’s supposed to be better than horse manure. Just need to source some containers with secure lids, don’t want it all over the back of the motor ! Cheers.

What war was that mate ? We haven’t been at war, we’ve been actively aiding and abetting the illegals; picking them up in the channel, putting them up in hotels, feeding and clothing them. Its looking more and more that the government , the politicians and the establishment are at war with US ! Cheers.

Not only that, but it’s been revealed that if they are “detained “ for over 12 months, they are allowed to work, and this is being changed to 6 months, and if they work they can claim asylum as working here gives them more rights !!! Cheers.
-
Just watched Farage, he showed Sunak saying a year ago that the new law wouldn’t allow anyone entering the UK illegally to claim asylum. Then he showed Cleverly and the Permanent Secretary today being asked what has happened to the illegals and they said”they are in the asylum process system” ! Sunak telling blatant lies and Cleverly and the Home Office ignoring the Illegal Immigrants Act. Cheets.

I’m glad you think West Ham are a “big club”, I always have…..we just need to convince Wilf now ! LOL ! Cheers.

Hi mate, as I’ve said before, I’ve a great interest in, but extremely limited knowledge of, world economics; I can only speculate on the information I get from what’s out there. As for BRICS, it seems to me to be a very loose currency alignment between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Some countries align their currencies with the USD$, like Saudi Arabia, but an awful lot don’t, like the Euro and the British pound, which float on the open market. It doesn’t really matter if BRICS currency becomes more popular than the USD$, China will still have to sell its goods to

Typp always liked a beddy type I had, and he was judging a show one day and I entered her. Sure enough, he gave her first place, then his missus stomped into the ring and gave him a bollocking and demanded he give her mates whippet first place and my bitch second…. And he did !!! I liked him as a character, he invited me for a day on his permission near Brought or Shap, but I was abroad and never got to take him up on it. Cheers.
-
Was that at the Fox pub on the a66 near scotch corner ? I think that was the last time I saw Typp, Rose, his missus had a nice whippet with her. Cheers.
-
Chipper was another character, I met him many times. The characters in the game seem to be dying out. Cheers.

Newcastle wanted him but City wanted £7 million loan fee for the rest of the season and Newcastle to pay his full wages, with no option to buy. I think they would have went for it if there had been an option to buy, but decided it wasn’t worth it just to be back at square one in the summer and still needing a new midfielder. Cheers.
-
Typp told me that the GSD had wolf in it, but much as I liked him, he could tell a tale or two ! Mind you, I’m sure the last litter he bred was standard poodle x greyhound, so who knows what he bred in the past. I disagreed with him on a few things, but it was always interesting talking to him. Cheers.

My protege mC can be Clint Walker, fine figure of a man ! LOL ! Cheers.
