She lived a life that most couldn’t comprehend, she worked for the British Embassy in Saudi, was a manager of corporate accounts for Barclays in Dubai, and was head hunted to be HR manager for an IT company in Australia. She stayed for a while with her fiancé a master sergeant with the American marines, at Camp Legune in Carolina. She was friends with Princes , Sheiks and diplomats, spoke fluent Arabic and finished her education at the Cambridge Annex of the Middle East. Very headstrong , lived life to the full and died all too soon at just 36 Her final couple of months were spent in HRH

Now you can believe this or not, but it’s the absolute truth; when my daughter was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she said “f**k it” and rented an apartment on that street in Amsterdam alongside the canal, the place that’s always used in the adverts. It was literally next door to a hash cafe, and she would just text them and they would deliver her “medication” ! Her Saudi Prince friend payed for everything and his wife visited her regularly , my missus went to stay for a while but being very straight laced found it a bit difficult picking up my daughters “herbal remedies “ ! S

I like Amsterdam, in fact I used to fly Jeddah-Schippol-Newcastle rather than Jeddah- Heathrow- Newcastle and have a couple of days stopover in Amsterdam, usually stayed at the Krasnapolski on the Damrack, Proost .

I spent 26 years in Saudi with my family I’ve been to Dubai and the other Emirates many times and my daughter worked there and my son and wife worked and lived in Saudi, we never had a single problem, in fact we lived a life that most couldn’t imagine. Never believe what you hear, see it first hand before forming an opinion. Cheers.

Don’t believe what you read as far as Saudi law goes mate. To have your hand cut off for theft, you need to have been found guilty on three separate occasions and there have to be three witnesses. Death penalty is for murder, drug smuggling, paedophilia, rape and, strangely enough, poisoning a well ! If he gets a huge majority, which seems likely, he will be able to implement his own policies, Whatever they may be, but if it is a hung Parliament and he had to form a coalition with the LibDems or the SNP, then what? Dangerous times ahead for democracy. cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I, personally think that Starmer will say anything to get in power. He courts the Muslim, far left and anti semetic vote, has no relationship with the white working class, and will try his utmost to take us back into the European Union. Dont get me wrong, the Tory’s are almost as bad, but we need a reset, and the only alternative are Reform ! They might not even get a seat, but they may make the Tory’s get back to being a right of centre party ! Cheers.

Grebby, I think that maybe, just maybe, a Thatcher is just what this country needs just now ! The Tory’s have gone so far to the left they are indistinguishable from Labour. Every one of the political class are only looking out for themselves. I know he isn’t everyone’s favourite, but agree or disagree with him, Farage is our only hope ….. Cheers.

Wel, firstly, I don’t think family should be mentioned. Secondly, there’s a school of thought that thinks minor crimes that go unpunished lead to major crimes . In this particular discussion, that policeman who raped and murdered the woman had been caught flashing twice before and no action was taken. Gassing flashers ? No, I don’t think so, but treat it as a serious crime ? Yes. Just my own opinion, of course. Cheers.

Where was the outcry when the police baton charged us on the countryside march ? The police and politicians will take the knee for Black Lives Matter, paint their cars in rainbow couloirs for the queers , but if it’s miners protesting for their jobs and communities or British people marching for their way of life, out comes the batons and riot shields ! Another time I was down there, not hunting, just visiting friends, a lad I knew who designed golf courses was taking us around and showing us some of the courses. I saw some big reds on one of the courses and he was pissed off ! He showed me pics of his Toyota pick up that he’d hit a red with.. it was a right off ! He didn’t like ‘roos ! Cheers.

Things have changed in the non-ped whippets, Ray. Now you can have 25” 55lb non- ped whippets racing under rules in the BWRA, Probably the fastest dogs in the world over the sprint distance.. but “whippets” ? Hmmm. Cheers. -
That’s why I liked judging whippets; they have a breed standard to compare each dog against. With lurchers you can only look at conformation and condition. Some look like they are workers, for obvious reasons, others look like they’ve never been off the lead. Don’t take it too seriously, take it as a day out , meeting old pals, making new ones and seeing dogs of all shapes and sizes ! Cheers.
