  1. I had some Russian night vision with infra red that I got from some Daghistani Hajis years ago. They were just Gen 2 but very effective, but I know the thermals are a different level, but I couldn’t justify the cost. Next time I’m in the Middle East I’ll see what’s available. Cheers.
  2. Interesting to see the heat dispersion. Cheers.
  3. Is that taken with a thermal, Joe ? Cheers.
  4. They also gave us access to their spy satellite’s to eavesdrop drop on all Argentine communications and diplomatic support in the UN. They sent very high ranking officials back and forward to Argentina trying to persuade them to leave the Falklands, to no avail, the intransigence of Argentina lead to us kicking them out. I doubt the Americans could have done much more for us. We were quite capable of doing the “boots on the ground” stuff ourselves. Cheers.
  5. The US suppled us with missiles for our Harriers, ground to air missile systems, use of their Atlantic refuling facilities, two million litres of fuel and had a replacement on standby if one of our carriers got sunk. They weren’t neutral, they stopped all arms sales to Argentina. Cheers.
  6. In their referendum, 99.8% of the Falkland islanders voted to remain an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom. Cheers.
  7. Saluki/bull/greyhound. Cheers.
  8. Changing of the guard ! Deer/grey pup being introduced to the old bitch. Cheers.
  9. Lima, first cross deer/grey bitch, and Bruce the rescue dog, both in their old age; Cheers.
  10. Definitely 80’s , Saudi desert. Handy for keeping up with those bloody Salukis when they took off ! LOL ! Cheers.
  11. I used to like the bikes, but I gave up when I got to an age when I broke rather than bounced when I came off ! Cheers.
  12. I’m sure Dave won’t mind me putting this picture of Bruce on here. Another time on the Scottish hills, waiting for a bolt. Also had four days up the Cairngorms with them. Bruce was top class. Cheers.
  13. Being so big and big boned I wouldnt rush them but nothing wrong with taking them along for a look with another dog. Beddy Dave let me tag along with the pup when she was about 6 months old to watch his young bitch working the Scottish hills. Of course I didn’t run her but she watched the action and got to taste a bit of fur. She was around 13 month when she had her first hare. Cheers.
  14. I find them no better or no worse than other types and I’ve owned most types, pures and crosses. Like getting any type, you must do your homework with the breeding, parents , etc. I obviously wouldn’t get one just for, say, ferreting or lamping rabbits. They will do that but there’s better types for the job. I mainly run hares and roe these days and the odd fox, and the deer crosses will do that as well as anything else. Its just a personal choice, I like them as they are easy to live with, and do what I want of them. Ive a soft spot for whippets, beddy’s, Salukis and
  15. Yes, same greyhound dam, but the sire is pure deerhound son of my bitches sire. So very closely related. Cheers.
  16. Of topic, but if anyone likes a bit of “leg” on their dogs, have a look at this pup; 8 month old first cross deer/grey . Cheers.
  17. A pup of Typps from some years back; Not a collie cross, it was 1/4 GSD X 3/4 greyhound. Cheers.
  18. A pal I hunted with in Australia; A Samba with a mixed pack of bloodhounds and beagles. Cheers.
  19. Daytime roebuck with the little beddy type; Shitty head gear on it but a decent size buck. Cheers.
  20. Was 71 a couple of weeks ago and had my yearly medical yesterday; all fine. Got my dental check tomorrow, still got all my teeth except one that got snapped, not expecting any problems. Ive got a kind of “lived in face” and bald as a coot, so I’d just be wasting money on any attempts at beautification ! LOL ! Cheers.
  21. Were you getting a “trout pout” Mac ? Cheers.
  22. You googled “hors de combat” , didn’t you ? LOL ! Cheers.
  23. There’s times you crack me up, Wilfy lad ! LOL ! Cheers.
  24. While we’re on about lamping Joe, remember these batteries I got off you about 15 years ago ? Well, with sensible rotation and trickle charging, I’m still using one of them ! None of that fancy Lithium Ion here, old school, me ! (Or some may say tight f****r PMSL). Cheers.
