As we are talking restaurants and Chinese; two days ago I was in China Town in Newcastle and went into a restaurant that had been recommended. We were greeted by a waitress with the words “cash only, cash only” ! When she showed us to our table, I thanked her in Mandarin,(only one word, no big deal), as she walked away I’m sure she cursed me in Han Chinese ! LOL ! The food was excellent and very cheap, the place was Spartan, full of older Chinese people and the hygiene rating was “needs improvement “. My dad used to eat gulls eggs, you could buy them in the Grainger market….. probably illegal now. I boiled up a badger ham once, but the smell and the grey scum put even me off from eating it. I know squirrel became very fashionable in restaurants a few years back, but I think of them as tree rats. I eat just about everything I catch and when a huge old fighting bird I took pity on when his career came to an end because he lost an eye, he went into the pot when he got too manny. Cheers.

I watched the darts last night and genuinely think that Luke Littler could be as good as Phil Taylor. Im watching O’Sullivan playing snooker right now and he’s playing as well as he has ever done and is undoubtedly the greatest of all time , and wondering if anyone is in the pipeline to better him ? A few year ago squirrel was the fad and they were selling in the same market for £7:99 and rabbits were £4:99. Yesterday there wasn’t a squirrel in sight, or venison. The last game dealer in the Grainger market, Kettlewells , is long gone, and the butcher that sold “exotic” meats like kangaroo, alligator, wild boar, is now a “bubble tea “ shop, whatever the hell that is ? I called into Findlays butchers, where I used to get as many lamb ribs and neck bones as I could carry for free……now they want £2 for a very small bag. Rabbits are the new venison lads ! Was in Newcastles Grainger market yesterday and rabbits are selling for £10:99 each !!!!! Need to get myself a nice little rabbiting dog ! LOL ! Cheers.

The US Marines love the Harrier. They can set up a metal mesh take off/landing pad in minutes for carrier based Harriers. The Harrier, in my mind, was ahead of its time, I don’t know why we don’t still use them. Cheers.

The yanks have a Presidential system, they can, in the end, only chose between two candidates to be President. We, on the other hand , DO NOT vote for a Prime Minister. We vote for a party, and the party with the most votes and seats choose an MP of their party to form a government and become PM, we have no say in who becomes our PM as has become blatantly obvious by Truss and Sunak becoming PM’s. I though plague victims were buried separately ? A few hundred yards from my house is a very small group of houses built on the site of a cholera hospital, on the aptly named Hospital Lane. The cholera victims are all buried in unmarked graves on the other side of the A69 on the same field as an Iron Age burial site, I don’t know if there’s any connection between the two Cheers.

To be honest, I don’t know if it’s hereditary in the dogs or taught. I’m not sure how you would teach a dog to ear hold…..I have enough trouble teaching them to retrieve! LOL ! Cheers.
