I try to avoid livestock if possible, I am a bit wary of horses but had a bad experience several years ago when a group of bullocks tried to kill my dog, he outran them around the field and escaped by jumping over a dry stone wall, the worrying thing was the 10 foot drop on the other side.

It's unlikely that your dogs would get fleas from a fox that is just passing through. Are you sure it's just fleas? not mange or another skin condition?

Wow, some good numbers I like the photo of the rats escaping through the mesh. I got some new permission for rats unfortunately i'm not the only person taking terriers so the huge numbers are being split

Well ditchy I've only had a couple of rats this year and they were only average, i'll see if any monsters turn up on a ratting trip next month. The rat in my photo was one of over a 100 that we caught in a few hours, a large number of the rats were above average size with some real monsters, they were decimating the farms corn and maybe the corn diet helped them grow?? -

Just finished it Jonno, the book would have benefitted with more information, I enjoyed reading about the guns and equipment although stalking isn't my thing. Thanks for the info on the other book

Oh well I can't enter the competition as I don't tend to take a tape measure out when hunting All I can ask is you take my word for it that the rat in the photo was nailed by my terrier on a ratting trip last year and the boots are my size 11's and thats a bulldog shovel -
