  1. Personally I can't imagine having to rehome my dogs but surely not every divorce is the same, what if the dog owner has to move out, has kids, the list is endless...........
  2. Well this week I had my first experience of shooting on a proper estate. The estate was in the Lincolnshire wolds and was a little over 200 acres with plenty of cover, woods and flight ponds. We got some pheasants and pigeons and saw snipe, geese, ducks and muntjac. The biggest surprise for me was the amount of badger settes, every wood has many settes and there were even lots of one-holed settes in the middle of maize fields. Due to the number of settes I left my terrier in the car as I didn't fancy the idea of her disapearing down the holes and explaining to the keeper. I fear it will b

  15. I run a large animal collection containing companion animals, livestock and exotics. I also teach a variety of animal related topics. I left school after several years of staring out the window and spent 7 years unpacking books in a grotty warehouse on minimum wage in the centre of Nottingham, my now wife bullied me into going to University at 23 and I graduated after studying animal science(god bless her), I then worked as a dog warden before coming to my current job. I also do a bit of dog training, training dogs for manwork, tracking and obedience.
  16. Thanks baldie, its a friend of a friends last day as a keeper on a big estate and we are walking it with dogs, hes told me to bring my shepherds but I think i'll just take the terrier and have been told that rabbits, pheasants, foxes and crows are to be shot. It's just for a few of the beaters and us, looking forward to it.
  17. Almost all my shooting with my shotgun is for pigeons, for the first time this week I have been invited to attend a shoot where I will be shooting my first pheasants, what shot size is best
  18. I can't understand why people have a problem with killing a fox but not with a rat My main quarry are rats as that is a more common species on my permission. I think we all kill animals and to try and justify it by degrading another mans quarry is wrong. I didn't read Poachers thread but don't be put off posting because of a few idiots.
  19. It was a collie I used for lamping, he was fine apart from being a bit sore. Always wary of horses after a friends Russell was stamped to death.
